Featuring dynamic male and female lead vocals, tight harmonies, live electric guitar and high-quality MIDI arrangements using real instrument sounds, we provide the full-band experience without backing tracks. Every performance is enhanced by a synchronised DMX lighting show, creating a polished, engaging atmosphere for any venue.
Our repertoire is tailored to suit each audience, whether it's a lively pub, club, hotel, private function or special event. From dancefloor favourites to singalong classics and modern hits, we know how to read the room and keep the music flowing.

We need a performance space of at least 4 meters x 3 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 1 parking space.
Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig, but we can also plug into any existing house PA system if required.
Just the correct access details for the venue and the parking restrictions if any. Also let us know of any sound limiters.
We're happy to provide background music before and between sets. We wish to choose the music ourselves so that it doesn't clash with our live set.
Having been in the business for so long, that's a very difficult question to answer. However some of our most enjoyable gigs were performing for UK Armed Forces in Germany. We have also performed at Sponsors Nights for football teams such as Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers.
Steve's main musical influence was The Beatles, later he got into blues rock, then soul and disco, and then reggae and ska, so there are many influences there. Anne loves acts such as Lionel Richie, George Benson and Luther Vandross. Her earliest introduction to music was when, in the '70s, she co-ran the fan club of the Bay City Rollers.
Steve started gigging as bass player in bands in the '70s and '80s, then went solo as a guitar vocalist. We initially formed Start The Party in the ’90s when we had great success at all sorts of functions: weddings, corporate functions, hotels, and entertaining British Forces in the UK and abroad. Anne left the act to pursue her work career but has now returned to the duo.
We love playing together any audience, but it's great to play at an outdoor festival. In 2027 we are privileged to be chosen as the opening act at Rainford's Picnic In The Park.
Our normal set up time is around 2 hours. Performance times are 2 x 45 or 3 x 30 minutes, and we're happy to play a couple of encores if the set is going well.
We're happy to play outside providing that any electrical equipment is under cover and all of the relevant health and safety procedures are adhered to.
We perform to our set repertoire only.
