Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

As a solo saxophonist I require only a small performance area of around 2 m x 2 m and access to a single standard power socket if amplification is needed. For outdoor bookings I appreciate cover from the elements.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I provide my own high‑quality portable PA system for a clear and balanced sound at small and medium‑sized venues. For larger events I’m happy to connect through your house system or liaise with your sound engineer. I don’t supply lighting but can work with any existing lighting setup or coordinate with your DJ or events team to ensure the right ambiance.

What information do you require about a venue?

Please provide the full venue address along with any useful access instructions and parking details so I can unload equipment easily. It’s helpful to know if there are any noise restrictions or sound limiters in place, whether power sockets and shelter are available for outdoor events, and what time you’d like me to arrive to set up and perform.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can curate a playlist of suitable music to play through my PA system before I perform and during breaks. If you have a specific Spotify playlist or genre in mind I’m happy to stream it via my device or connect your own device so the atmosphere continues smoothly between sets.

What equipment do you provide and what do you need from the venue?

I provide all my own professional equipment including saxophone, high-quality PA system, microphones, and backing track/music playback system. All I need from you is access to one standard UK power socket near the performance area and a flat, stable surface of approximately 2m x 2m for my setup. For outdoor performances, I also request a covered/shaded area to protect the equipment from direct sunlight and weather.

How much space do you require for your performance?

I need very minimal space - approximately 2 meters x 2 meters for my equipment setup. This includes space for my PA speaker, music playback system, and standing room for myself. I'm perfect for venues with limited space! For roaming performances during drinks receptions or ceremonies, I can move around freely with just my wireless microphone system while the backing tracks play from the PA.

Do you have insurance and PAT tested equipment?

Yes, I have full Public Liability Insurance covering up to £10 million, and all my electrical equipment is regularly PAT tested for safety. I can provide copies of these certificates to your venue if required. I'm a fully professional, registered musician and take all health and safety requirements seriously. Many venues require these documents, so I always have them ready to share before your event.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

One of my most memorable performances was at a luxury wedding at the Savoy Hotel in London. The combination of the elegant ballroom, attentive guests and the couple’s emotional first dance made it a truly special gig. Another highlight was playing an Ibiza‑style sunset set on a rooftop terrace overlooking the River Thames during a corporate summer party – the energy of the crowd and the view were unforgettable.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I’ve been inspired by jazz legends such as John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins, and by contemporary saxophonists like Dave Koz and Candy Dulfer. I love the groove of Maceo Parker and the Balearic house vibes of performers like Lovely Laura. Choosing a single favourite artist is difficult, but Stevie Wonder’s timeless songwriting and melodies are a huge influence. The greatest song of all time is subjective, but George Michael’s ‘Careless Whisper’ is a classic that always captivates audiences and showcases the saxophone at its soulful best.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I began performing saxophone in local jazz clubs and function bands during my university years and quickly developed a passion for live events. Since then I’ve played hundreds of weddings, corporate functions and private parties across the UK and internationally, from intimate garden gatherings to high‑profile gala dinners. Over the years I’ve built a diverse repertoire and honed my ability to read a crowd and tailor my sets to each occasion.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I genuinely enjoy all kinds of events, but weddings hold a special place because of the emotional atmosphere and the variety of settings, from ceremony to evening party. It’s always rewarding to help create unforgettable memories for couples and their guests. I also love relaxed garden parties and cocktail receptions where smooth jazz and pop melodies set the perfect ambience.

What makes your saxophone performances unique and special?

I specialise in bringing energy, soul, and sophistication to every event. I offer versatile performance styles from romantic acoustic sets perfect for wedding ceremonies to high-energy Ibiza Sax performances that get guests dancing. With years of experience performing across London and the UK, I read the room and adapt my repertoire to match your event's atmosphere. I perform jazz, pop, R&B, house, and soul - ensuring every moment is memorable and unique to you.

Can you perform different styles of music for different parts of my event?

Absolutely! I'm highly versatile and can seamlessly transition between styles. For weddings, I offer acoustic romantic performances during ceremonies and drinks receptions with songs like "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran and "At Last" by Etta James. For evening receptions, I switch to upbeat party tracks and Ibiza Sax style performances featuring house classics like "Jubel" and "Freed From Desire." I can also perform jazz standards, soul classics, and modern pop hits to suit any event type.

Do you work solo or with other musicians?

I'm completely flexible! I primarily work as a solo saxophonist with professional backing tracks and pre-mixed sets, which keeps costs down while delivering a full sound. However, I'm also experienced collaborating with live DJs, bands, pianists, and other musicians. For Ibiza Sax performances, I can jam along with a DJ for an interactive club atmosphere. Just let me know your vision and I'll make it happen!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I typically arrive 60-90 minutes before the performance to set up my equipment and conduct sound checks. For most events, I perform 2 x 45-minute sets or 2 x 60-minute sets with a short break in between, though I'm very flexible and happy to adjust timing to suit your event schedule. For weddings, I can perform during the ceremony, drinks reception, or dinner service. For corporate events and parties, I can adapt my performance length and timing to fit seamlessly into your event flow.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, I'm happy to perform outside for garden parties, outdoor weddings, and summer events! I just ask for a covered or shaded area to protect my equipment from direct sunlight and weather, a flat level surface for my setup, and access to a power supply. If weather conditions become unsuitable (heavy rain, strong winds), we may need to move indoors or reschedule for safety reasons. I always bring weather-appropriate equipment covers just in case.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely! I love working with clients to create their perfect soundtrack. I'm happy to learn up to 5 special song requests before your event at no extra charge - whether it's your first dance, entrance music, or meaningful family favourites. I also have an extensive repertoire of over 150 songs covering wedding classics, party hits, jazz standards, and modern pop. You can choose from my pre-made sets, pick individual songs from my repertoire lists, or give me general guidance on mood and genre, and I'll curate the perfect playlist for you.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Warm, soulful musicianship combined with a great personality, professional punctuality, and a natural ability to read the room, engage guests, and create the perfect atmosphere—making every event feel effortless and truly memorable.

How long do you typically perform for and can timings be adjusted?

I typically perform 2 x 45-minute sets or 2 x 60-minute sets with a short break, but I'm very flexible with timings. For weddings, I can perform during multiple parts of the day - 30 minutes during the ceremony, 1 hour during drinks reception, and 2 hours during dinner/evening reception. For corporate events and parties, I can adapt to your schedule whether you need background ambience or featured entertainment. Just share your event timeline and I'll work around it!

Can you learn specific songs that are meaningful to us?

Yes! I'm happy to learn up to 5 special song requests before your event at no extra charge. Whether it's your first dance song, a family favourite, or a meaningful piece, I'll arrange it for saxophone and ensure it's performance-ready. Just give me at least 4 weeks' notice. I also have an extensive repertoire of over 150 songs across wedding classics, party hits, jazz standards, and modern pop - so chances are I already know your favourites!

Are you available for last-minute bookings?

Yes, I specialise in last-minute bookings! As long as I'm available on your date, I can often confirm performances with just a few days' notice. I understand that plans can change or entertainment needs can arise suddenly, especially for corporate events and private parties. Contact me with your event details and I'll do my best to accommodate you, even on short notice.
