About / Biography

Vintage Voltage is a collective of young musicians bound by an obsession with late ’60s and ’70s rock. Our motto says it all: Who said only dads can play #dadrock?

Clad in flares, boots, and unapologetically unbuttoned shirts, we channel the spirit of rock’s golden era — not as nostalgia, but as something alive, electric, and unmistakably current. Vintage Voltage isn’t just a tribute band; it’s a travelling time machine, reviving the raw energy, groove, and attitude that defined a generation.

We breathe new life into iconic classics while weaving in carefully curated deep cuts, creating sets that surprise seasoned fans and convert new ones. The result is a high-impact live experience driven by serious musicianship, authentic passion, and explosive stage presence.

Available for private functions, events, and live bookings, Vintage Voltage delivers a timeless, high-energy rock ’n’ roll experience for audiences of any age.

LINE-UP & PERFORMANCE OPTIONS

Vintage Voltage operates as a flexible collective built around a powerful core live band. The standard line-up features guitar, bass, drums, and lead vocals (typically four to five performers), with the option to include a dedicated keys player.

Our modular format allows us to tailor each performance to the event. Depending on the booking, the band can be expanded with additional musicians, including extra guitars, keyboards, saxophone / brass, percussion, and backing vocalists.

Our vocalists bring distinct flavours to the stage:

Paul – Dynamic lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, at home with artists such as Jim Morrison and David Bowie, while also performing keys and guitar.

Mookie – Expressive lead vocalist with a natural affinity for Stevie Nicks-inspired material and ’60s psychedelic female-fronted repertoire.

Mircha – Powerful lead vocalist specialising in Led Zeppelin, Sabbath, and heavier classic rock.

Gordon – Versatile vocalist with strengths in blues rock, Beatles-influenced material, and classic rock staples.

While each vocalist has stylistic strengths, all are highly versatile. Clients may book multiple singers to create longer, more varied performances.

Typical sets run up to two hours, with extended performances of three to four hours available for expanded line-ups (additional fees apply).

SHOW & PRODUCTION ELEMENTS

Vintage Voltage is designed as a fully immersive visual and sonic experience. Performances can incorporate:

• Retro-inspired stage aesthetics
• Vintage décor and atmospheric lighting
• Optional vintage TV displays with era-inspired visuals
• Custom intro / transition sound design

Production packages can be scaled to suit the venue, budget, and event type.

REPERTOIRE & SPECIALIST SETS

Alongside our mixed classic-rock sets, Vintage Voltage offers themed and artist-focused performances, including:

• Full tribute sets (single artist)
• Multi-artist tribute formats
• Era-driven themes (Woodstock, psychedelic ’60s, blues rock, etc.)

Each set can be customised to match the audience, venue, and atmosphere.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We need a space big enough to accommodate the 4-5 of us including gear. We also need adequate power and sockets. We can supply a full backline if needed but prefer using house equipment if available.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

We have a PA system and laser/oil projector lamps.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know what the best spot to park, if there is a sound limiter, if there will be a an in-house engineer, and whether there is a backline available.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes we can play appropriate music in-between sets and whilst packing down. (Might incur extra cost if we are required to stay way beyond the last set finishes).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Last summer we played at a Vintage themed festival with loads of race cars, helicopters, and planes. Huge stage, it was amazing! We played a special race themed set (highway to hell, radar love, born to be wild etc.) Next to this we played an awesome birthday in a huge church last year, when we started out none of us thought we'd be playing Sabbath and AC/DC in church someday ... definitely a highlight! Lastly our Cosmic Xmas in London, as well as our Halloween gig in Brighton were amazing, big vibes and a lot of dancing!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We're a covers band and our favourite bands to cover include; Free, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and many more ....

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We're all full/part-time musicians based in Brighton. Most of us met at BIMM where we studied/or are still studying. We started this project because we love Rock music from the 70s, and normally only see older people cover this kind of thing . It seemed like a really cool niche to fill! And as it turns out it's helped get more young people into Zeppelin, Bowie, Sabbath, and more! Also older audiences find it cool to see people playing music from way before they were born. Our parents are all old rockers, so we should thank them for giving us good taste!

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Parties, Club Nights, Birthdays, Funerals, Pubs, we do it all. If the audience dig it, so do we!!! Of course we can tailor our set to the occasion!

I've got some questions about your setlist and the possibility to add requests.

Hey!

Please get in touch. We're always happy to prepare one or two requests if we get enough notice. As long as they're in line with our genre (60s/70s Rock). Of course we're happy to play happy birthday etc. But please get in touch so we can discuss everything in detail!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up and perform 3 x 40 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best. Of course we always have a couple of encores on hand.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, if the weather allows and/or there is adequate shelter/a tent. The location must be easily accessible tho and not too uneven or wet/damp.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We normally make our own set list. We can learn specific songs before the event given enough time, but we usually limit this to 3 songs and charge and depending on what/when/how might charge an extra fee. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our existing repertoire

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

''The Brunswick rocked to Vintage Voltage! Fantastic musicians fronted by an awesome singer. Great music, great night 👍''

''It was like being 21 again''

''I never got to see Zeppelin, but was just as good in my mind''
