Vintage Voltage are a 60s and 70s rock collective from Brighton and London. Four to eight of them depending on the room, three for the acoustic set, playing Zeppelin, Purple, Sabbath, Bowie, Hendrix, Free, Humble Pie, Thin Lizzy, Fleetwood Mac, Cream, and the deep cuts either side of them.
Technically a tribute band. Actually a rock and roll rave inside a time machine.
No wigs, no costumes, no winking at the audience, no medley. A young band playing this music the way they fell for it, loud and slightly out of control, with mashups of their own and songs that run into one another with no gap for applause. It works as well for the people who saw these bands the first time round as for their kids.
That 70s Night is their own event: a wall of working vintage televisions, an oil projector, lamps, rugs, a DJ after the band, and a room full of people who dressed for it. It has sold out Paper Dress Vintage in London three times and De Piek in Vlissingen, and taken 164 tickets at Daltons in Brighton.
They also just play. A festival stage, a wedding, a birthday, a corporate night, a pub on a Saturday. Thruxton Race Circuit for the Super Funk retro festival, Slim Jim's Liquor Store three times, The Troubadour, Hope and Ruin, The Waterhole in Amsterdam, the main square stage at Monument Festival in Zierikzee, and a biker rally at Plumpton Racecourse.

Weddings often take the acoustic trio for the ceremony and drinks, then the full band after dinner.
What they bring
PA and monitoring for 150 to 200 guests, all their own backline, and an oil projector and lamp set. On request: the full vintage television wall, a hazer, and a DJ set after the band. £1m public liability insurance and PAT tested equipment. With enough notice they build themed nights (Zeppelin against Deep Purple, a psychedelic sixties night, a glam night) and learn two of your requests with a month's notice.

We need a space big enough to accommodate the 4-5 of us including gear. We also need adequate power and sockets. We can supply a full backline if needed but prefer using house equipment if available.
We have a PA system and laser/oil projector lamps.
We need to know what the best spot to park, if there is a sound limiter, if there will be a an in-house engineer, and whether there is a backline available.
Yes we can play appropriate music in-between sets and whilst packing down. (Might incur extra cost if we are required to stay way beyond the last set finishes).
Last summer we played at a Vintage themed festival with loads of race cars, helicopters, and planes. Huge stage, it was amazing! We played a special race themed set (highway to hell, radar love, born to be wild etc.) Next to this we played an awesome birthday in a huge church last year, when we started out none of us thought we'd be playing Sabbath and AC/DC in church someday ... definitely a highlight! Lastly our Cosmic Xmas in London, as well as our Halloween gig in Brighton were amazing, big vibes and a lot of dancing!

We're all full/part-time musicians based in Brighton. Most of us met at BIMM where we studied/or are still studying. We started this project because we love Rock music from the 70s, and normally only see older people cover this kind of thing . It seemed like a really cool niche to fill! And as it turns out it's helped get more young people into Zeppelin, Bowie, Sabbath, and more! Also older audiences find it cool to see people playing music from way before they were born. Our parents are all old rockers, so we should thank them for giving us good taste!
Parties, Club Nights, Birthdays, Funerals, Pubs, we do it all. If the audience dig it, so do we!!! Of course we can tailor our set to the occasion!

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up and perform 3 x 40 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best. Of course we always have a couple of encores on hand.
Yes, if the weather allows and/or there is adequate shelter/a tent. The location must be easily accessible tho and not too uneven or wet/damp.
We normally make our own set list. We can learn specific songs before the event given enough time, but we usually limit this to 3 songs and charge and depending on what/when/how might charge an extra fee. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our existing repertoire
