Review Centre: World Music Ensembles

"St Patrick's night at the Old Fire House Exeter was electric last night. The Extonions were well on form and had the place buzzing. Mac on his green electric fiddle raced away with jigs getting faster and faster, I'm surprised his fiddle didn't catch fire. Mike sang in his sexy Hank Marvin deep gravel voice with a lovely Irish twang. That got the ladies swooning. John swapped with ease from 6 to 12 string guitar and kept up a driving beat together with fingers flying over the strings to create a magical sound. James maintained the foundation of the band with solid bass. The place was so packed it was like how many people can you get in a telephone box, they just kept pouring in. There must have been hundreds at the gig. Feedback said it was the best St Patrick's venue in Exeter that night and greatly down to The Extonions. I highly recommend you don't miss their next gig."

So sorry for this late reply but we have been busy. We loved playing there although mature talented experienced musicians the younger audience went wild and like you said thought it was the best St Patrick's Night Exeter in Exeter. Mac 🙂 🎨 🎻

They got everyone dancing and are so so talented, we still have people who were at the wedding complimenting how amazing they are. We feel blessed to have come across them on last minute musicians. "Gig Dates - 2013 “Shama and her band were exceptional in making my husband’s 50th birthday party an evening to remember. I admire them for their punctuality and professionalism. The music was excellent Bollywood and Hollywood. All my family and friends thoroughly enjoyed it, they still talk about the evening. "Edina is a charming young lady, is very personable and mixes well with the throng, she has an excellent sense of humour too. Then there is her guitar playing! She was sensational and enjoyed and loved by all the guests, her programme was varied and always appealing, from quiet contemplative to the more boisterous and all produced with charm and consummate dexterity. She delivers of her music and of herself which is endearing and a joy to witness, we could not have chosen better and will engage her again, she gets a fulsome and unwavering recommendation. She is great!"

"I had a brilliant night on Saturday ! The Wade Austin Steel Pan Duo were absolutely incredible. They played as all the guests were arriving during the drinks reception. Everybody commented on how good their sound and energy was. It created a great atmosphere and I would definitely recommend them/use them again. Thank you!"

"I run a venue which hosts parties and promotional events for the alcohol and beverages industry. Mozel Tov Cocktails played at our celebration of the end of Prohibition. They did a stomping set well suited the event, and even mixed in some live electro-swing which went down a storm with the clients. We liked them so much we booked them again a few months later for the Glasgow Art School Archetects graduation ball. If you like totally authentic gypsy jazz and swing as well as bit of klezmer this is your band. In a nutshell: fun, dedicated, authentic virtuosic professionals."
