"We were looking for a band with a repertoire of jump jive and swing music for our wedding reception and found One Jump Ahead. The band did such a great job, they had such great energy, and our guests loved dancing to their music. There was good variety of songs so that our non-swing dancing guests could show of their moves too! We loved the first dance and really appreciate the band learning the song for us, we hope they will continue to play it in their future gigs. We had very good communication with Kit in the run up to the wedding and the band were able to set up by themselves which made things run smoothly for us, and were very flexible and relaxed on the night. We'll be recommending you to our family and friends for future events!"

Thanks Sherri! It was a really great reception, made all the better by the lovely sunny weather we had. It was excellent that many of your guests were swing dancers - we always like to play for them! (It's still a pleasure playing for other dancers, too, of course - or even those who prefer just to listen!) We enjoyed learning your request and will be very likely include it in our sets at future wedding receptions. "Everything about this Group is utterly fabulous, from easy communication and arrangements ahead of the event, to no-fuss setting-up and easy mingling amongst friends. They sound incredible, (seriously, if you're in any doubt about guaranteeing a fabulous night with a wide range of music - book these guys!) and the eclectic mix of music ensured that everybody got up to dance and enjoyed themselves. The lighting and general 'staging' also added to the occasion. Thank you so much. You completely Rock!"

"We had a great night with Uptown Groove on Saturday night. The band turned up at the time when they said they would, did their checks and were ready to go when we were. They were flexible to work their set times around the football match that was finishing (England) and that was really appreciated - everyone was happy! The music they played was very varied and from the start it got people up dancing. A great evening was had by all. "

"Absolutely fantastic band. Booked for 25th Wedding party and superb. Really good communication beforehand, wanted to know what we wanted but also gave helpful guidance and had pretty much uploaded every song suggestion for DJ set before they arrived. Very professional, really excellent musicians who engaged with partygoers and came out onto dance floor. Which was definitely filled. Brilliant. Would highly recommend and definitely book again. And really nice blokes. Matt is a fantastic frontman but also really good at engaging with us as the party organisers. Couldn’t fault them. Thank you!"

Many thanks for your kind words Sue. We have always had fun when playing for you at the Flying Pig. Your creative bar dancing to our version of “Wipeout” is define a very special memory for all of us ? Hopefully we can recreate this at some time in the future as this is a showpiece number for Kevin our amazing new drummer!

"To just say Ineza can sing is a little short of a musical crime - Ineza is more than just singing - Ineza's vocal performance transcends even the most accomplished jazz singers of today. (Samara Joy is good, but Ineza is better!). Her fluid and joyful tone, reminiscent of the greats, really set the romantic mood when she performed with her trio at our wedding this summer (2024), every song was as smooth as the last and we loved it! Thank you Ineza."
