Review Centre: Solo Musicians

"I came across Billy at the Edinburgh Festival in 2016 when we did a BBC Radio show together. He was quick-witted, funny, and wonderfully, prodigiously talented. I invited him to do a slot on my show later that week and in the dressing room afterwards he busked with the group of beat-boxers that shared our venue, playing Stairway to Heaven to their acoustic accompaniment. He's super-likeable, always experimenting and choosing interesting, different arrangements (think Jamie Cullum). Hope to see him again soon- he's definitely a (guitar) star!"

"John was very punctual, he turned up early to set up. He is a very talented singer & everyone commented on that. His song choices were brilliant & he even allowed requests from guests. He was just a singer but also an entertainer, he made people laugh & was so professional throughout. The feedback I got from the guests was amazing- John was the true professional & an excellent performer. I would definitely recommend to everyone."

"Outstanding! Alastair was professional, courteous and above all VERY talented - he even got a personal thank you in our speeches. So many of our wedding guests commented on how wonderful he was, his music suited the mood and venue. It was such a warm day that many of our guests were outside initially, and without any fuss he seamlessly relocated outside, it was beautiful to watch him play on the grass outside our marquee. We can't thank Alastair enough and would 100% recommend. Thank you. "

He got off at Hull Station, then, like a man who accidentally mislaid every care he had to give, plonked himself behind a piano and played David Bowie’s opus ‘Life on Mars’. "I was at my friends retirement party yesterday with Beverley doing a "set". The sound of the saxophone is very special and Beverley takes it to a new level and made the party very very special for everyone. Book her now......Beverley and her saxaphone will be the life and soul, and jazz, and motown of your party, celebration, event. How good is she? The weather wasn't kind to us with a sudden downpour threatening to send everyone inside but Beverley blew the clouds away......and gave us musical sunshine. Oh, and if you read this Beverley, remember - Burrel Collection."

"Neil proved to be a real hit at my recent 50th birthday. He was easy to work with, showed initiative and was flexible when dealing with a day of very varied weather. He selected songs - and background music too - that instinctively chimed with the guests and in many ways gave my party the atmosphere I wanted at the right level of volume. He's a great singer, made everything effortless, and I would recommend him without hesitation."

"We had a guitarist booked for my dads 70th Birthday, who cancelled at the last minute... Well me and my 5 brothers and sisters were devastated.. Anyway, I contacted Marc who stepped up with no notice whatsoever.. He was completely fantastic, he was supposed to play 2, 45minute slots but played the whole evening, and only stopped because we forced him too, (to eat).. Marc learnt a whole new bunch of songs just for us, in only 2 weeks and they sounded like he'd known them forever. My family (especially my dad) got very emotional on a few of them... I will be definitely using Marc again. A genuinely lovely and talenented young man. Thank you Marc... You made my dads birthday extra special... Belinda x "
