Aphrodite Strings were formed in 2008 and are all graduates of The Birmingham Conservatoire and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As a quartet they regularly play at weddings and functions throughout the country. Members of the quartet are currently working as freelance educators and orchestral players and have played for The CBSO, English Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Viva, Longborough Festival Opera Orchestra, il Divo, Alfie Boe and many others. Our extensive repertoire collection covers all music genres (Classical, Romantic, Pop, Latin, Jazz, Disney and Musical Theatre). We are also able to fulfill any special requests. Set up time is 20 minutes before we are due to start playing, we don't charge anything for this time.
We are happy to play outside but we ask for shade and shelter from the sun or rain please.
We often get asked for special pieces of music, particularly for wedding ceremonies and we are happy to cater for these specific requirements. We do need notice (at least 2 weeks or more if possible) if these requests are not from our set list. For drinks we often take around 5 pop song requests and then create a set list based on those choices.
