About / Biography

Hello!

My name is Ash, and I am a guitarist and singer playing popular hits ranging from the 60s to present day.

I have 7 years of experience playing shows in every kind of venue, from restaurants and weddings to stadiums and corporate events -- whatever the occasion, I am confident that I will be able to deliver what you are looking for.

With a large selection of over 150 songs to choose from, I am more than happy to tailor my setlist to fit whatever vibe you would like to create, whether that be dancefloor fillers, classic sing-along songs, first dances, or just upbeat background music for your function.

I am more than happy to learn any new songs you would like me to, and of course if there is anything that you would like me to avoid playing, let me know as well.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need somewhere to park my car, and I need a power socket to plug into. I have a 5-metre extension lead but anything beyond that I will need an extension lead

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I will provide a full PA system for sound, but no lighting equipment. However, I can get some if needed as long as I have advance notice.

What information do you require about a venue?

I need to know the address, what time you'd like me to be there, what time you'd like me to start playing, and I also need to know if there's a volume limit.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am more than happy to play music through my speakers from Spotify before, after, and between my sets. Whether you trust me to choose the music or not is completely up to you!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I played at Ashton Gate stadium to fans of Bristol Bears rugby team, and had everyone singing along the entire time, it was a great experience. I also enjoyed playing several times at Tom Kerridge's restaurant in Chelsea, as it was a lovely atmosphere with amazing patrons.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Sam Fender has always been a big influence for me in both performing and songwriting. My favourite artist of all time is Paulo Nutini, and his song Iron Sky is my favourite of all time because it was the song that inspired me to become a musician! You'll see songs from both Sam Fender and Paulo Nutini in my sets, if you want them.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging when I was 14-years-old, first starting out by busking, and since then I have played in venues all around the UK with notable venues including Ashton Gate Stadium, Tom Kerridge's restaurant The Chalk Freehouse in Chelsea, and Tortworth Court in Gloucestershire.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love playing at all kinds of events and venues, but a couple that stand out for me are weddings and intimate restaurants. At both I tend to be able to really structure my set to compliment the event, and playing songs that soundtrack special evenings in people's lives -- whether a date night out or the beginning of the rest of their lives together -- is particularly special to me. I also love it when people dance and sing along, and when I can play a spontaneous request for people!

Why are there no videos of you playing covers?

I am currently trying to get some made as soon as possible - bare with me!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

My typical setup consists of just myself, a microphone in a mic stand, a guitar, and two PA speakers with a small mixer. I normally perform in 45-minute sets, but am happy to discuss playing for longer at a time -- my main desire is to tailor my performance to exactly what you want. I can also turn up however long you'd like me to before playing, but need at least 30-minutes as a baseline to get settled and set-up.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to perform anywhere, any time, in whatever weather!

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am more than happy to tailor the setlist to whatever you would like. As long as I have a bit of time beforehand to learn the song(s), then anything is possible.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients have described my sets as anything from "high-energy classics" to "perfect background music", with some repeat clients noting how well I am able to curate my setlist to fit the function of the day.
