Bertie Bow is a classically trained violinist who specialises in original arrangements of famous songs performed acoustically on the violin with a simple setup of a battery-powered amp playing back tracks. With a talent for improvisation, she fluidly transitions from pop to classical to jazz without missing a beat. Giving strong Bridgerton vibes, she is known for her laid back romantic and sophisticated performances using simple piano and guitar backing tracks.
Bertie has been performing at weddings and events for over 25 years as a soloist and in groups including Bowjangles, Graffiti Classics and Lotus Classics. As a soloist, she has performed as a guest entertainer on Royal Caribbean Cruises and most recently she starred as the musical soloist in the famous Cromer Pier's Christmas Show.
I have a great deal of experience in many different performance situations. Playing brides down the aisle, performing intimate, relaxed concerts in care homes, full stage shows in theatres or at corporate events, and mood enhancing 'background music' at parties and in restaurants.

For small - medium background events I provide my own small battery powered speaker for tracks. For larger events I may need further amplification.
I will need venue address with clear directions. Depending on the event, a contact name and number for someone at the venue.
I can play a spotify playlist during any breaks of similar style music or a requested playlist on Spotify.
I recently starred in the famous Cromer Pier Christmas show! It was a lot of fun performing as a solo act but also joining in with the big full cast routines!
I have always loved Stephane Grappelli. Whilst I wouldn't say I am a jazz vioinist I do love to bring in elements of his style of playing through improvisation into my arrangements. I can also perform a set of jazz and blues repetoire if requested.
I am classically trained on viola, violin and piano and voice. I started gigging professionally as a teenager and over the past 25 years I've performed all over the world from New York to China, Glastonbury Festival to The Royal Albert Hall. I perform on luxary cruises, on TV and in theatres all around the UK and even at international street performing festivals. Alongside the big stage events I have regularly performed at weddings, private and corporate events in string quartets, bands and as a solo artist. Performing, composing, arranging and recording is my career and full time job.
I love performing at ALL events but I do especially love weddings and anniversaries. I've done a few engagements too which are lovely. Last year I performed at a couple of funerals, both in the ceremony and at the wake which was a real honor.
For events that I am playing accoustically I will arrive at least 30 minutes before start time.
For wedding ceremonies I typically play for up to 30 minutes before the ceremony, then at specific points during the ceremony.
Set times for events are typically 1 hour long at which point I will need a break of at least 15 minutes.

I am willing to learn up to 5 songs within the agreed fee, if they are available as a backing track. If they are unusual I am happy to create a bespoke arrangement and backing track. A recording of this can also be provided after the event.
