Bit The Pip are a UK/NZ folk-fusion duo, hailing from two different sides of the globe.
Composed of Hugh Maffey (guitar+vocals) and Phoebe Hewitt (violin+vocals+percussion), Bit The Pip combing silky vocal harmonies, infectious rhythmic guitar and soaring violin improvisation, in a state of pure togetherness.
Formed in 2022, during an ambitious cycling/busking tour around Europe, Phoebe and Hugh have since performed at numerous concerts and private events.
Be it gentle background music or a late night boogie that you're after, Bit The Pip's sound will complement the atmosphere you wish to create, and enrich your event.

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.

Yes, we have a PA which is suitable for rooms up to 150 people. We can also perform outside if there is sun/rain cover.
The most fun gig we have played was in Phoebe's hometown! We returned from NZ, booked out the village hall and set it up as a full blown concert venue, ready to entertain the locals. It was the most fun we've had in a very long time, especially when everyone got up and started dancing and doing the conga!

We have 5 years experience performing together. Phoebe trained in violin at University, and Hugh has been performing in music scenes since he was a teenager.
