Playing at Glenn Tilbrook’s 60th Birthday (from the band Squeeze). He saw us play in a pub at a Wedding in London and personally came over to chat to us and enthusiastically asked us to play his birthday. It was a wonderful evening and his endorsement was everything we needed to know that we are doing the right thing.
Best venue, was probably on the ferry between Picton and Wellington in New Zealand, we were playing gigs out there for a few weeks and we got free passage if we did a concert on the Ferry. The views were absolutely stunning from where we were playing on the back of the boat!

We all started playing music at school except for Kelly, when a dad went out to work, she would play his Double Bass without him knowing. We have been playing in various bands together for over 25 years.

We like the variety of any event from a wedding in a pub to a exhibition Hall drinks reception to a New Year’s Eve knees up!

Kelly is a lead vocalist and plays the Double Bass.
Kelvin is also a lead vocalist and plays the acoustic guitar and foot drums and beatboxing .
Hugh is a lead vocalist two and plays the piano and foot cymbal.

You can appreciate for function and weddings that not only travel but time spent at the location and using our larger PA is also factored into the final quote.

Setup time is 40 mins approx depending on distance to get in.

We provide 2 x 45 mins sets.

3 x 40mins.

Yes, being outside is fine. We have used a battery amp and played many birthday parties and wedding receptions in Gardens, or at wedding venues with an outside area. As long as we have power and a gazebo to stop selves and equipment melting in the summer.

We are happy for our clients to see our set list and choose any songs that we play and also to suggest a couple of new songs that they love that we can play for them.

It’s usually what they tell us of the comments from their friends what a great time they’ve had. On two occasions we’ve played sister‘s wedding and then a couple of years later played the other sister‘s wedding and then also a family members birthday. Music just puts everybody in a good party mood from the start.

We like to have fun with the songs, keeping all the melodies exactly the same but changing around a bit of the cool progressions to fit with the instrumentation we have, so predominantly all the songs are up-tempo in a bluegrass swing style because of the style the Double Bass is played. Everything is very sensible and very sing-able.

We play from the 80s and 90s with one song from the 70s and one song from the 00’s.
These are the best two decades and have the best songs, there are hundreds and hundreds to choose from…. So why should we play from any other decade!!
