The Blue Moon Band is a lively five-piece function and party band bringing you classic, feel-good tunes from the 60s through to the 2000s — perfect for both listening and dancing. With a blend of soul, funk, and jazz influences, we deliver timeless hits with our own twist.
Fronted by the fabulous and soulful Ruth McGrady, the band features four seasoned musicians with years of experience performing alongside some big names in the business. We might not all be pretty, but we sure sound good — tight, polished, and passionate about what we do!
We typically perform up to two one-hour sets for parties, weddings, and events, and we’re always happy to discuss set lengths and budgets. Our fees start at £300, but if you’re working within a tight budget, just let us know — we’ll do our best to make it work.
Got a special song in mind? We’ll gladly learn and add it to our set list with enough notice before your event.
We perform across Wiltshire and into surrounding counties, using top-quality, fully maintained instruments and equipment — all PAT tested and the band is covered by public liability insurance.

We need a performance space of at least 6 meters x 4 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 5 parking spaces.
Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area. We also ask for full protection in the event of rain.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to one song.
