Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Career highlights include: performing at some of Britain's most breathtaking stately homes including Longford Castle, a ten gig weekend for Shaftesbury Fringe Festival, and securing over 100 gigs in my first nine months as a solo singer.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

As a child I was drawn to big beautiful timeless voices like Stevie Wonder, Karen Carpenter, Lauryn Hill and Barbra Streisand. I love all styles of music and take inspiration from most genres. Wherever I go I always have an 'ear out' for new song ideas - and often get some great suggestions from guests or audience members!

Greatest song of all time? Impossible to pick, but a possible top five would be Superstition, Imagine, Purple Rain, Hotel California and A Change is Gonna Come.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started performing in theatre around ten years ago, and soon discovered musical theatre was my favourite type of stage performance. I then started gigging with various bands, and have since performed with many different acts at hundreds of different events, weddings, festivals and venues. I turned full time as a solo act in 2023.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love playing at any venue or event, but private events, weddings and special celebrations my favourite! It's wonderful to be part of a special celebration, living in the moment and getting everyone dancing. Having said that, I also really enjoy creating a relaxed atmosphere with some timeless, elegant background entertainment.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

My setup is generally very simple and straightforward, and I usually arrive about an hour before the performance to set up.

I'm extremely flexible when it comes to performance times. Most events tend to suit 1 x 60 minutes, 2 x 45 minutes or 3 x 45 minutes, but these set times can be easily adjusted if you prefer.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, I'm very happy to perform outside but ask for overhead cover, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Clients are very welcome to select their favourites from my repertoire of 200+ songs. I'm also very happy to learn up to two special requests free of charge (minimum two weeks notice required). In crafting set lists, I draw on my experience over hundreds of previous performances, learning what guests most enjoy and engage with, and what gets them dancing or singing along and having the most memorable occasion.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

The most regular comments I get compliment my voice, versatility, and my refreshing range of material.

Because I have such a wide repertoire covering so many eras, styles and genres, I'm able to provide either an eclectic, fresh mix of styles, or tailor sets to a preferred genre, style or era.

Do you have different line up options?

Yes, in addition to my fully self-contained solo act, I work with a pianist and am able to offer an duo act with live piano and rhythm.

What sort of events do you perform for?

If music is required, I can perform for your event! Over the past decade, I have provided entertainment for:
