Hey! I’m Crissi RB – based on the South coast but hailing from Yorkshire, music has always been at the heart of who I am, and I am passionate about creating atmosphere and memories for each event and client! I bring energy, soul, and a love for performance into every space I play in, whether it’s a high-energy wedding party, a chilled Ibiza-style event, or a smooth jazz set over some drinks, I’ll bring that extra something to your event!
I started professionally gigging in 2015 around the North East and Yorkshire, before I spent a year performing in Hong Kong for corporate events in 2018. I then graduated with a Master’s degree in Music in 2020; I’ve been grafting and growing ever since—applying my skills to a variety of exciting and demanding roles. I’m a classically trained clarinettist and a passionate saxophonist, and I’ve shaped my career around adaptability, professionalism, and heartfelt performance.
I have played lead tenor saxophone in Bold Big Band—an award-winning 18-piece jazz ensemble known for its dynamic arrangements and powerful live shows. You’ll also find me on stage and on the dance floor with Bride and Groove, a vibrant wedding DJ agency where I perform live saxophone alongside DJs to bring the party to life. I love the energy of these events—every crowd is different, and I take pride in reading the room and adding just the right sound at the right time. I also play with function bands such as A Hot Minute, and I even swap my sax for keys in one of Encore’s most-booked ceilidh bands, the Drop Spindle Ceilidh Band.
I love playing a range of genres including House, Ibiza chill-out, Jazz, Pop, Soul, Funk, and Easy Listening, I am happy to play whichever style suits each occasion and audience. What sets my act apart is my ability to blend strong musicianship with sensitivity and flair. I bring a polished, professional presence to every performance, and I’m as committed to the small details as I am to the big moments!
I am also committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and neurodivergent communities, with a focus on accessibility and representation in all aspects of my work.

I'm very easy - all I need is a wall socket and I can plug in my extension and my gear! If I am working alongside a DJ, I need to ensure they are happy for me to plug into an XLR port on their decks!
I provide my own sound equipment (PA, mixer, extension cable, microphone), and can provide a lighting rig if required!
I require any specific directions to help me get to the venue, and information about parking/where I need to load in. If there is a specific room I need to be in, that would be great too. If there is a sound limiter, it would be good to know ahead of the gig!
Absolutely, I can connect Spotify to my PA before, between or after my sets - I have premade playlists that I can put on, but also more than happy for the client to use their own playlist!
The best gig - I played for a BBC wrap party at the BALTIC in Newcastle Upon Tyne and had to stop myself fangirling!! The best venue would have to be the Hong Kong Cultural Convention Centre, it was an incredible experience!
I have been influenced by a number of artists so that's hard to answer! My favourite old school tune has to be The Way You Look Tonight... but the greatest song of all time has to be Luther Vandross - Never Too Much. It gets the crowd up and going, and it so gorgeous to play sax over the top!
I started out as a classically trained clarinettist where I very quickly discovered that I am an incredibly energetic performer, and am much more suited to performing on the dancefloor! This was strengthened when I joined a ceilidh band and continued to grow my love of crowd work and getting the clients involved! I quickly built up my contacts, and last year performed at over 200 events!
Ooh.. it's a cop out to say all events, so I would say festivals and weddings - I just love to see people up and dancing and having the best time!
I like to arrive between 30-40 minutes prior to my performance - this gives me enough time to get set up, warmed up and ready for the show! My performance times hugely vary, but the most popular booking tends to be 2 x 45-60 minute performances with a break in between. This is not exclusive though!
More than happy to perform outside, however I would require cover (if the weather is bad that is!) and access to a power supply.
I have a setlist that clients can choose from, however I am always up for learning new songs too! I often ask the client to pull together a playlist of their ideal songs, and from there I can see which I already know, and which I can learn for the event - I'm very flexible!
