About / Biography

Hi, I’m Ellie – a professional violinist and vocalist specialising in live music for weddings, drinks receptions, and private events across the UK. 🎻🎀

I fell in love with the violin at age 7, trained classically, and today perform on both acoustic and electric violin - with optional live vocals to offer a completely tailored experience.

Whether you're planning your wedding ceremony, a relaxed drinks reception, or an elegant evening dinner, I’ll help set the perfect tone. Custom songs are always welcome, and I provide a full PA system and ambient lighting as part of every booking.

I'm also the lead singer in a disco/funk band and bring real stage confidence and presence, whether you're booking me for an intimate wedding or a luxury event.

I work closely with couples, planners and venues to keep everything seamless behind the scenes, and I genuinely love creating musical memories that feel personal and unforgettable. πŸ’•βœ¨

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I require a reasonable space (approx. 2m x 2m) to accommodate my PA speaker, violin stand, music stand, and mic.
Access to at least one power socket is needed.
For outdoor events or areas without power, a battery-powered PA can be arranged in advance.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes β€” I bring my own high-quality PA system and can include ambient lighting suitable for indoor or outdoor setups.
No need to provide anything β€” I’m completely self-contained.

What information do you require about a venue?

It’s helpful to know:
β€’ Best way and time to load in
β€’ Whether the venue has a sound limiter
β€’ Where I’ll be positioned (especially for wedding ceremonies or formal layouts)

I always aim to liaise with your planner or venue directly to ensure a smooth and discreet setup.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely! I provide a curated Spotify/playlist service before, between, and after live sets to keep the atmosphere flowing.
I can either build a playlist for your vibe β€” or you’re welcome to send one in advance.
For larger events, I also offer a Live DJ add-on to extend the party 🎢

❓Do you bring all your own equipment and lighting?

Absolutely β€” I’m fully self-contained and bring a high-quality PA system, ambient lighting, and all instruments needed for my performance. You won’t need to worry about any technical setup!

❓Can you perform outdoors or at venues without power?

Yes β€” I have a battery-powered PA for garden ceremonies, marquees, or open-air setups. All I ask is for a flat surface and a bit of cover if the weather is unpredictable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Two standout performances come to mind that reflect the heart of what I love doing.

In August 2024, I headlined the main stage at the Cambridgeshire Beer Festival, performing to over 3,000 people with a total attendance of 45,000 across the event. It was an incredible open-air experience, blending vocals and electric violin with a high-energy crowd under the summer sky.

More recently, I was invited to perform for John Lewis Cambridge as part of their 2025 Mother’s Day Weekend celebrations β€” providing live music in-store throughout the day. It was a beautiful atmosphere, and a real honour to be part of a national brand activation that brought live music to families, shoppers, and staff alike.

Whether it’s a sunset headline slot or a refined brand showcase, I always aim to create an experience that feels seamless, heartfelt, and full of impact.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

My influences are a blend of classical roots, modern soundscapes, and emotionally driven performance styles. I trained classically, but I also draw inspiration from artists like Elderbrook, Rufus Du Sol, and Lindsey Stirling β€” musicians who bring feeling, layering, and storytelling into everything they play.

Whether it’s a cinematic instrumental, an acoustic vocal, or a deep, ambient build-up, I’m drawn to music that makes people feel something - and I aim to create that same emotional connection in every performance.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I’ve been immersed in music since childhood, beginning violin at the age of 7 and later graduating from music school with a classical foundation. Over the years, I developed my sound by embracing electric violin, vocals, and contemporary crossover performance - adapting my act to weddings, high-end events, festivals, and private functions.

Today, I work closely with couples, planners, and venues to create bespoke live music experiences that combine elegance, versatility, and a personal touch.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love events where I can really connect with the audience and help shape the atmosphere. Weddings are particularly special - being part of someone’s most meaningful day is a huge privilege, and I always aim to create moments that feel personal and unforgettable.

That said, I also enjoy the buzz of stylish receptions, premium corporate events, and boutique festivals. Each setting brings its own energy, and I love adapting my set to match the tone - whether it’s uplifting, emotional, or chilled and sophisticated.

If you're after music that feels elegant, personal, and professionally delivered, I’d love to be part of your next celebration.

❓Can we request a specific song that isn’t on your usual setlist?

Yes! I'm happy to learn up to 1 or 2 new songs with every booking, depending on the package. If you'd like a special arrangement for something really unique, I also offer a custom song preparation service β€” just let me know what you're thinking.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I usually arrive 30–45 minutes before start time to set up and sound check.

I offer several compact, high-quality PA options, including wireless capability - allowing me to roam freely or adapt to different venue layouts.

Performance timings vary, but I often deliver 1–3 tailored sets of 30–45 minutes, depending on the event flow. I'm always happy to coordinate timings with planners to ensure a smooth musical journey.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes - outdoor performances are welcome, provided the weather is suitable and there’s a flat surface and basic cover/shade.

I can provide a battery-powered PA for locations without access to electricity, so please feel free to ask if you're planning a garden or open-air celebration.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely - I love making the music feel personal.

For VIP bookings, clients can request up to 5 custom violin pieces or vocal songs not already in my repertoire. You're also welcome to guide the vibe (e.g. romantic, upbeat, cinematic), or leave the music curation entirely in my hands.

If something special is needed beyond that, I offer a custom arrangement service too.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Clients often describe my performances as elegant, emotional, and full of heart β€” whether I’m playing a ceremony, creating atmosphere at a drinks reception, or getting the party going later in the evening.

I’ve been told that my ability to blend modern energy with classical skill is what makes the experience feel both sophisticated and memorable. Many have said it’s like having a string quartet, a singer, and a soulful vibe all in one act.

❓Can you perform both violin and vocals at one event?

Yes! Many of my bookings combine both violin and vocals for a varied and tailored experience. I can mix the two across different sets, or focus on one depending on the vibe you're after.
