Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I do not need much space at all, as long as I can stand or sit with a music stand and have some space for a small speaker, I am good to go. I must have adequate protection from elements if outdoors, this is for insurance purposes.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Basic sound equipment will be provided, as we provide an acoustic service… we don’t need much!

What information do you require about a venue?

Any directions that may help us find the venue and wether or not the venue need a provision of our insurance documents.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can play a Spotify set if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I remember playing a wedding at Auchnagairn Castle and the bride and groom has exclusively chosen film music! Playing a Bride down the aisle to the Imperial March from Star Wars was a particular career highlight!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

As a classical musician, one of the my favourite musicians has been Alfred Brendel! His recording of the Beethoven Piano Sonatas is one of my top 3!

On the pop music side, I am totally obsessed with Laufey!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I originally started performing for friends and family at their houses and that turned into bigger concerts.

I then started going work for a small opera company and after studying psychology at Aberdeen University, started a solo recital series! After leaving Aberdeen I went to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to study Violin! Since then I have been playing with both professional and amateur orchestras across the world! I’ve also done some musical theatre gigs including a whole tour in New York City in some of the most famous famous theatres in the world.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love doing chamber music concerts! My string quartet do a monthly concert series across every Scotland which is a highlight of my month. This transfers over to wedding gigs as well, doing a wedding with the Quartet is so much fun! Friends, a special occasion and good music is a recipe for fun!

As well as that, there’s nothing like sitting in a symphony orchestra and being in the middle of that wall of sound.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We aim to arrive an hour before the performance to set up and get settled. Set up time takes as little as 15 minutes unless you have requested our candlelight package, that usually takes 45 minutes to set up!

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, on the condition we have adequate protection from the elements. If we do not, we cannot play outside. This is due to an insurance clause for our instruments! Instruments are very valuable so we must keep them safe!

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We don’t believe in set-lists! Something we pride ourselves on is adaptability. Professional musicians should be able to play anything and were willing to put the work in for your special day!

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Professional, well-prepared and reliable!
