Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

2 plug sockets. That's about all we need - we bring our own amplification.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes we are completely self contained bringing amplification and lights.

What information do you require about a venue?

Any directions we might need in addition to an address (for google maps) are welcome. A load in location (eg front door, garden gate to the left) is helpful and name of the contact person would ideal. Parking instructions are really helpful - especially if we need to pay for parking in which case we appreciate knowing in advance. We look forward to meeting you! If you would like us to perform outside then please do let us know in advance so that we can be prepared.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we're happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We're happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client give us a playlist. If the client wants us to keep the music going for a significant time after we have finished playing and packing up then we may charge an additional fee but we would not do this without consulting the contact person first - we want to make sure that the event goes exactly to plan and will be as flexible as we can in accommodating requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

We're lucky to have played some pretty big venues as we both sing individually with some heavy hitters... our favourites include Cardiff Glee Club, Brighton Komedia, Union Chapel, Cheese and Grain, Hauser & Wirth, The Vortex, The Green Note, The Bear Club, The Square & Compass, Wiltshire Music Centre, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, Fanny's Meadow, The Pump, The Lighthouse, The Acorn Theatre to name but a few.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We both love folk and blues music and adore Dolly Parton... but we can't resist some pop music too! We are 90s girls so we love our Alannis Morrisette but also can't get enough of Billie Eilish and Chapel Roan. Anything with a good melody that we can harmonise and spin with a country feel sounds good to us.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Rosanna took on some jazz gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on her gap year and never looked back. Subsequently doing a 4 year degree at Trinity College of Music she met her Puppini Sisters and went on to forge a career in performing, session singing and education.
Beth started singing in folk clubs in her native Cornwall and has loved it ever since. She later created award winning duo Ma Poleine with much loved radio play on BBC Radio 2 and Cerys Matthew's acclaimed Radio 6 show.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Vintage hankies at the ready... we love a wedding... all events are welcome but you can't beat a wedding... meeting the happy couple, seeing the gorgeous outfits, listening to the speeches, witnessing a pivotal moment - we always feel honoured to be at a wedding.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We arrive 30-45mins before a performance and it takes us 10-20 minutes to set up.
Our usual gig will consist of 2x 45 minute sets but we are flexible. If there is additional music needed such as a special song for an announcement, or walking down the aisle etc. then we can adapt our repertoire and change timings to accommodate. We also play piano and sing classical music which is sometimes requested at wedding for a one off song.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Absolutely but we ask for shade as we are using an acoustic bass which is sensitive to sunshine. Also we will need a power supply but are happy to bring long extension leads. If you let us know your vision then we can figure it out.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We're very happy to take requests either on the day or prior to the gig.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

'You played all my favourite songs', 'gorgeous harmonies', 'loved your version of Toxic' - this and more!
