J.F. Duo are a versatile high energy duo, bringing a unique mix of pop, rock and easy listening from the 50's to the present day, suitable for any occasion.
From a stripped back acoustic set, to full-band sound using their own unique custom made backing tracks, J.F. Duo can suit any venue or any occasion.
Based in Suffolk, both Mat and Jackie have a wealth of experience performing in the music industry, clocking up over 40 years between them, and bring a high level of musicality and professionalism to any event anywhere in the UK.
They can create the perfect atmosphere for any party, wedding reception, event or occasion, playing a variety of different styles from laid back romantic love songs, to upbeat party and sing along tunes, and can tailor their set to your requirements, even taking requests in advance to add that special touch.
Their backing tracks are all recorded from scratch in their own studio, so are consistent in their quality and sound, and completely unique to them. This also means they can learn a special song just for you (subject to terms) and can offer you the final recording as a special keepsake that's yours to keep forever.
Taking up less space and budget than a full band, they can fit a smaller space, or can fill a stage with a larger set up, both of which include a fully PAT tested professional sound and lighting system to create the atmosphere you need for a successful event. They can also fill any breaks before, in between and after sets with background music to keep the atmosphere going. All you need to supply is a power source and shelter, and they provide the rest.
Choose from several standard length sets, from just 1 hour, 3 x 45 minutes, or 2 x 1 hour, or request your own unique requirements to fit in with your event.
From the most intimate acoustic performance to a full-band sound party, J.F. Duo can set the mood with a sound and playlist that is just right for your occasion.

For our full backing track party set up, we would need a performance space of at least 3 x 3 metres, whereas our acoustic set up can be fitted in a smaller space. We require a 13 amp power socket, sufficient shelter if outside (ie wind and rainproof), and a space to unload and park our vehicle.
Yes, we provide a full professional PA and lighting system as standard, all of which is PAT tested annually.
The address and postcode of the address and any directions if it isn't easy to find by SatNav, and any details regarding access and parking for our vehicle to unload our equipment.
Yes, absolutely! We will provide background music from a suitable playlist while we are not performing live, and are happy to keep the party going till the end.
Yes. Full professional lighting and PA to compliment your event are all included as standard.
Yes, we do! We hope never to use it, but we are always fully prepared!
We've played at some outstandingly beautiful places, but Mat wins the competition having played at Wembley Arena supporting Miss Dynamite! We love the beautiful wedding venues, and our favourite so far has been Copdock Hall, which is why we chose this venue to do our video shoot. Just stunning!
Wow, can you even pick the greatest song of all time when there are so many contenders! We both share a love of rock music and have both been most influenced by that genre, although we do love all sorts of music and really just play what we love. Jacks is most influenced by strong female singers like Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Joan Jett and Lady Gaga, but has also been influenced by vocal icons such as Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Billy Joel and most recently Conor Mason. Mat is an all rounder, but was first influenced by the likes of Hank Marvin, Eddie Van Halen and Dave Gilmour.(and Shakin' Stevens, but he doesn't like anyone to know that!)
Mat started playing in bands at the age of 14 and has not stopped since. When we met over 20 years ago when Jacks joined Mat's band on vocals, it was a match made in heaven! It took 10 years of playing alongside each other in various acts before we took the plunge and became a duo as well as partners in life. Having been building J.F. Duo for the last 10 years, and playing hundreds of gigs to thousands of people, our natural chemistry and experience on stage means that the audience are at ease from the get-go.
Our favourite thing is when the audience is singing and dancing along, and generally having a fabulous time. Our aim is to get everyone on the dancefloor, whether that's at a wedding, a birthday party or a corporate event. We love playing to an audience that came to party!
We like to arrive to unload and set up around 1.5 hours before our start time, and ideally before guests arrive. We understand this isn't always possible though, so just ask for patience while we carry out our sound checks to make sure we are sounding our best for your guests.
We typically play for 2 x 1 hours, or 3 x 45 minutes, but can be flexible to meet your requirements.
Yes, absolutely - we love a summer party! All we need is sufficient shelter in case of a good old British downpour, shade from direct sun if it's hot hot hot, and a reliable and safe power supply.
Yes we are more than happy to share our set with you so you can pick the songs you love. We can even learn your special song or your first dance song (subject to terms) with enough notice, and because we record all of our own backing tracks in our home studio, we can give you the final recording as a keepsake for you to keep forever.
We have had lots of lovely reviews from clients, with the general theme being that we are fun, lively and professional and get the crowd on their feet.
We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.
Yes. We are happy to take song suggestions in advance and if it's something we can do, we are happy to learn and perform it for your event (subject to terms). If it's a first dance song, we can give you the final recording so you can keep it forever!
Yes! Both Mat and Jackie have wireless equipment which makes us both fully mobile.
Yes absolutely! We like to tailor our sets to match the audience and give you the opportunity to chose a set from our list to suits you.
