Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

For most bookings, I require a small performance space (approximately 2m x 2m minimum), access to at least one standard power socket (13 amp), and reasonable nearby access for unloading equipment. A parking space. Clear communication is always necessary to ensure things run smoothly of course.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes — I am self-contained for most events and can provide my own professional PA/sound setup suitable for small to medium-sized venues and private functions. I can also provide simple performance lighting where appropriate. If your venue already has a sound system, I’m happy to work with that too.

What information do you require about a venue?

It’s helpful to know the event type, venue location, performance times, available setup space, access/loading arrangements, power supply, and whether there are any sound level restrictions. For weddings and private events, I’m also happy to discuss the schedule in advance so the live music fits the atmosphere and timings perfectly.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I'm happy to provide a streaming site DJ service before and between my sets if required amd if beneficial to the client at any point during the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

One of my favourite gigs was a wedding drinks reception where the music really helped set the tone for the whole day - relaxed at first, then gradually building into a more upbeat singalong atmosphere. It was a great example of the kind of event I love doing; reading the room, keeping the energy right, and helping create a memorable experience for everyone.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I've been influenced by a wide mix of artists and songwriters across soul, pop, rock and acoustic music - from classic artists like The Beatles, Bill Withers and Bob Marley through to more modern artists such as George Ezra, Paolo Nutini and Oasis / Noel Gallagher (for songwriting and live singalong moments).
It's hard to pick one favourite artist because it changes depending on mood, but I've always had huge respect for artists who combine great songs, strong melodies and real connection with an audience.
As for the greatest song of all time, that's almost impossible to answer properly - but if I had to choose one, I'd say 'A Day In The Life' (The Beatles) for how original, emotional and timeless it is.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging by playing smaller local venues and private events, building experience gradually and learning what works in real rooms with real audeinces. Over time that grew into regular bookings across pubs, restaurants, private parties and functions.
My background as a performer has helped me become very adaptable - whether that means providing relaxed background music, building the atmosphere during a drinks reception, or shifting the energy up later in a set when the crowd is ready for it.
I've played a wide range of venues and events, and that experience has taught me how important reliability, communication and reading the room are. I aim to make the live music side of an event feel easy and stress-free for the client, while creating a great atmosphere for guests.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I enjoy playing a range of events, but my favourite type of booking is usually weddings and private functions - especially drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts.
I love the balance of creeating a relaxed atmosphere early on, then gradually lifting the energy as the event unfolds. It's a great feeling when the music helps bring people together without overpowering the moment.
I also really enjoy working with clients to shape the right vibe for their event, whether that's laid-back background acoustic music, well-known singalong favourites, or a mix of both.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

My setup and performance times are flexible depending on the event, but as a guide I usually allow 60-90minutes for setup and soundcheck (sometimes less if access is straightforward).
For performances, I commonly offer:
1 x 60-90 minute set (ideal for ceremonies / drinks receptions)
2 x 45 minutes
2 x 60 minutes
3 shorter sets (for longer events / background music across different parts of the day)
I'm happy to tailor timings to suit the schedule of your event and can discuss the best formatbased on the atmosphere you'd like.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes - I'm happy to perform outside when conditions are suitable.
For outdoor performances I ususally ask for:
A dry, covered area / shelter (or reliable shade)
A flat, stable surface
Access to power nearby (unless a battery setup has been agreed in advance)
And protection from rain / strong wind / extreme weather
Outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions can work brilliantly, and I'm always happy to discuss the setup in advance to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Clients are very welcome to have input on the music.
I have a broad repertoire that works well across weddings, private events and functions, and I'm happy to tailor the set to suit the atmosphere you want (for example, more relaxed background acoustic music, more upbeat singalong favourites, or a mix of both).
Where possible, I'm also happy to include a small number of pre-agreed requests in advance of the event, provided they suit the style of the performance and there's enough notice.
Many clients prefer to give me a general direction and let me read the room on the day, which I'm also very happy to do.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Recent feedback includes comments such as:
'great musician and vocalist... a good entertainer'
'absolutely brilliant... guests loved him'
'booked many times and never been disappointed'
