Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

It’s hard to pick just one! A real highlight was a week-long residency at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, where the energy of a live theatre audience every night was incredible. I also loved the creative challenge of composing and conducting a two-week show at York Theatre Royal—performing in my home city is always special. In terms of pure prestige and acoustics, performing in the Royal Albert Hall’s Verdi Room and the Southbank Centre were unforgettable experiences; those spaces have a natural elegance that truly elevates the sound of the classical guitar.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I’m deeply inspired by the technical precision and lyrical beauty of Xuefei Yang, but I’m also heavily influenced by the raw energy and 'fire' of Brazilian guitarists like Yamandu Costa. In my own playing and compositions, I aim to bring these two worlds together, combining classical elegance with a vibrant, rhythmic soul.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

My professional journey began at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD), where I performed extensively as a recitalist in some of the UK’s most beautiful acoustic spaces. This elite training provided the foundation for a versatile career that now spans over a decade.

Since graduating with 1st Class Honours, I have transitioned from the concert hall to the heart of the UK arts scene, performing at, composing for, and musically directing productions at major venues like York Theatre Royal and the Royal Exchange Theatre. Today, I bring that same 'concert-level' artistry to weddings and private events, priding myself on my ability to blend high-end virtuosity with the professional reliability required for luxury celebrations.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I just really enjoy playing for people and sharing beautiful music. But intimate events in beautiful settings, especially a reverberant room elevate the experience even higher.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I usually need around 1 hour before the performance to set up. I generally perform 2 x 45min or 2 x 60min sets but this can be altered to suit the needs of the audience or client.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am very happy to play outside. I just ask that outside performances are on a flat surface, with shelter from the rain, and a power supply.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I aim to make your wedding or event music a true reflection of your personality. My repertoire is entirely flexible, you are welcome to hand-pick your favourite pieces from my existing list or leave the selection to me if you’d prefer a curated experience.

Special Requests: I include two custom song arrangements free of charge with every booking, perfect for personalising your walk down the aisle. If you have further specific songs in mind, I am happy to arrange these for a small additional fee to cover rehearsal and arrangement time.

The Signature Soundtrack: For those looking for something truly unique, I offer a premium Bespoke Composition service. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to have a piece of solo guitar music composed specifically for your celebration, a musical heirloom you can keep forever.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

While many appreciate the relaxing and romantic atmosphere I create for a ceremony, I often hear that guests were surprised by the virtuosity of the playing. Couples frequently mention that the music felt like a private concert rather than just background accompaniment, providing an intimate and engaging experience that becomes a real talking point of the day.
