Is your sound equipment suitable for any size venue?

I use a high end Bose sound system, which gives crystal clear and dynamic sound. However, like all systems, there is a limitation to the output that can be achieved. My system comfortably accommodates functions of up to 150 guests. Beyond that, an AV (Audio Visual) company would be required to provide independent sound production for larger events. I also have a smaller midi Bose system which is ideal for more intimate gigs and events.

Do you remove your equipment immediately after your performance ends?

As standard, once I have changed, I will discretely and as speedily as possible break down and remove my sound equipment once a performance has ended. This may be done by myself, or sometimes by an assistant who works with me. If a client wishes me to wait for a period of time after my performance or to the end of the event itself before breaking down and removing the equipment, this must be requested when booking, as it will incur additional charges for waiting time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

With over 30 years experience in high end entertainment it's really hard to pinpoint a favourite gig or venue. I have appeared in iconic West end shows, international concerts and galas for celebrities, royalty and heads of state. Each has its own magic. But equally memorable are the birthday parties, family celebrations, corporate events and weddings where I have had the pleasure of performing. To me the most important thing is to see people having fun, singing along and filling the dance floor. That never gets old!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

My Retro Pop & Classic Hits show is cram-packed with iconic hits and floor fillers from the 1950s to the 1980s. Within those four decades are some of the biggest and most iconic names in pop history. Tom Jones, The Beatles, Elvis, Barry Manilow, Cliff Richard, The Monkees, Frankie Valli, ABBA , The Ronettes, Gloria Gaynor and Barry White to name but a few. Please don't ask me to choose a favourite or my head might explode!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I have over 30 years experience performing in high end entertainment.
My background is professional musical theatre.
I have appeared in West End musicals, and touring musical productions around the UK and abroad.
From there I expanded into cabaret and corporate entertainment, weddings, private parties and family celebrations.
I am fortunate to be a preferred supplier to many top hotels and venues in the South East.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Parties, family celebrations, weddings, corporate events, cabaret, I love them all! They each have their own charm and challenges, but when you get a room full of people singing along with you or filling the dance floor, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Can you liaise with my venue or event planner?

Yes of course! Once we have agreed terms and signed contracts, I am more than happy to liaise with venues or event planners to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day of your event.

What do you wear when performing?

I have a great selection stage costumes, ranging from black tie to showbiz glitz! I am always happy to discuss wardrobe options with you and agree the most suitable attire for each event.

Do you take requests whilst you are performing?

My set lists will have been created especially for you and your event, following a consultation, and will be timed to your specific requirements. Sadly live singers are not like DJ's who have thousands of tracks available at their fingertips, and song requests often interrupt the flow and dynamic of a live performance. For this reason I rarely, if ever, accommodate requests once a performance has started.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes of course!
Outdoor Requirements: A shaded/covered area for singer and equipment, a flat level surface and safe electrical supply close to the performance area. Bottled water is always appreciated.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I have an extensive repertoire of Retro Pop & Classics Hits, which I know from experience are real crowd pleasers. For this reason I tend to recommend to clients that following a consultation, they trust my judgement and let me produce a play list which is suitable for your specific event type and the vibe that you want to achieve.
