Hi! We are The True Colours Duo.
We've travelled the world performing on the high seas for luxury cruise line Celebrity Cruises and around the UK (including for NATO, BBC Radio Berkshire, London's Berkeley Hotel and hundreds of weddings) since 2017. We've got years of testimonials and 5 star reviews.
We are Mia (vocals, uke, guitar) and Dan (guitar, vocals) and we love creating the perfect vibe our versions of songs. Our sound features male and female vocals, guitar, and ukulele, perfect for wedding ceremonies, drink receptions, dinner music, garden parties, engagements...From cosy and intimate settings as a duo, to rocking out with our band on a big stage (see The True Colours Band profile for more).
We're insured and can even provide background music and a DJ service so the whole event is sorted.
We play parties, weddings, and shindigs of all sorts in West Sussex and beyond. Whether it's one set or a full day's live music, we'll bring all our own gear, years of experience playing professionally, and a huge repertoire to your event.
As well as performing live, we record bespoke acoustic versions of your special songs, like your aisle song or first dance song, to keep forever.

Yes, we are fully self contained and use high quality sound equipment. We provide stage lighting to create the right atmosphere for our acoustic covers.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Performing our 'Fleetwood Mac Unplugged' acoustic show to a packed out audience on board a luxury cruise ship was absolutely amazing, as was playing live as we sailed around the Statue of Liberty on New York! The Berkeley Hotel in London was a lovely venue.
We're definitely influenced by greats like Carole King, James Taylor, Elton John, The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin... Our favourite artist is probably Fleetwood Mac, we couldn't choose a favourite song but we'd say the whole Rumours album has to be one of the greatest of all time!
We both started gigging in bands as teenagers, playing our favourite rock bands. We both wrote our own songs, went to music college and became musicians. We met each other whilst playing in a band on a cruise ship, fell in love, and we then travelled the world as a duo and with our own band!
We love any shindig, especially if there's cake! Weddings are just magical as they are full of love and good vibes.
We are usually set up within 60mins of arrival, often much less. We like to be set up and sound checked before any guests arrive, so we will request a time-line for the event so that we can identify when is best for us to arrive and set up.
We include up to 2 hours of live music as standard in our bookings, in 2 x 60 minute sets, or 3 x 40 minute sets, extra sets can be added. We can provide DJ playlists through our PA system when we aren't playing. Late finishes (past midnight) and early arrivals (before 5pm) can be added on to the below pricing.
As long as the performance area is fully covered and a flat level surface. A power supply is ideal, but we can be fully battery powered.
Yes , we include learning a special song for every gig. We will also send you a song list for you to look through and we will have a chat around 1 month before the event to discuss the music and atmosphere you would like to create. We will ask you for your music preferences and craft a set list from our long song list using our years of experience to make sure we get it right for you and your guests.
