The Industry Standard

The Throwback Showdown doesn't just play the hits; they are the trusted musicians for the icons who created them. They are currently the official live touring band for house legend Angie Brown, rave queen Rozalla, and 90s hitmakers East 17.

From the stages of Glastonbury, Victorious, and Secret Garden Party to high-capacity club nights and corporate events, they have shared the bill with legends like Judge Jules, Artful Dodger, and Danny Rampling.

The Setlist: A Non-Stop Barage of 80s and 90s Nostalgia

The Throwback Showdown has carefully crafted their show into DJ-style ‘mash-ups’, where tracks are mixed seamlessly to keep the party vibes going. The Choose Life show repertoire spans from 80s Chart and Rock classics to 90s dance and Briptop bangers, including:

  • Smash Hits Chart: Wanna Dance With Somebody, Respect, Just Can’t Get Enough
  • Britpop Singalong: Parklife, Wonderwall, Sit Down
  • 90s Club Classics: Show Me Love, Set You Free. Freed From Desire
  • 80s Rock Anthems: Living on a Prayer, Don’t Stop Believing

The band also offers two show options:

· ‘The Urban 90s Collective’: Their 90s Dance Show delivers the best euphoric dance tunes, house classics and rave anthems re-voiced into fresh new arrangements for the 21st century.

· ‘Loaded!’:. Their Unique 90s Britpop vs Dance Show delivering a unique blend of 90s dance, house, Britpop and rock.

· Want something bigger? Upgrade to the band’s 90s Diva option and add a 30 minute set from an original 90s legend. Current options include East 17, Rozalla, Angie Brown and Coco Star with more names to be confirmed.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Staging Area
The band will require at least 150 square feet (say; 10ft depth, 15ft width) to set up.

Power
There should be a minimum of two 13-amp plugs near the staging area. If power is located elsewhere, the venue may need to provide extension leads to run power nearer our location. If the venue uses a generator this must be well grounded, voltage regulated, and a minimum 5kw.

Changing Area
Big enough for 4 people and not a public toilet.

Food
The band will require a ‘hot’ evening meal. The band does not have any allergies and there are no vegetarians.

Loading In and Setting Up
In order to load in the band will require an area where they can park for at least 20 minutes (without risk of getting a ticket). They will need an unobstructed passageway to the stage with the distance being no more than 50 metres from their vehicles. The band will need access to a lift for venues not on ground level. It will take 90 minutes to set up.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we provide a 10,000 watt PA system for up to 700 guests and a fully programmed light show.

What information do you require about a venue?

We will need the address and load in location. We will also need to know whether we can use our haze machine and whether there is a sound limiter on site.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

We provide a free playlist service or clients can log into our system via Bluetooth for their own playlists

Performing our 90s dance show at Victorious Festival to 10,000 people!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

A typical show would see the band arrive approx. 5.30 pm, take 90m to set up, perform 2x60m sets and finish around 11.30pm (to vacate site around midnight). All of these times can be extended as optional extras...

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, providing the performance area is waterproof and level and a safe power supply is available.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We offer a carefully crafted musical extravaganza, where all the songs are segued into a seamless flowing show. There i therefor no scope for adding or removing songs etc. We do, however offer a separate Britpop vs Dance show (called Loaded!) and a 90s Dance Anthmes show (called The Urban 90s Collective) - both available on this site
