About / Biography

If you're looking to bring a touch of class to your wedding or event then you need to hire a jazz singer. With my vintage style microphone, I promise to look the part as well as serenade you and your guests with sophisticated jazz, songs from the Great American Songbook, uptempo swing and beautiful ballads.

If you're looking for a modern twist then you can also book me to perform a post modern jukebox style set with classic pop songs sung in a jazzy style so even non-jazz fans can sing along!

I'm a trained jazz singer and have years of experience performing at special events in this style as well as others so whether you need relaxed background music or uptempo swing that your guests can dance to then I'm your girl!

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I only need a small space. Ideally I need access to power but if it's a small area then I can use my portable battery powered speaker.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, I'm fully self contained with my own PA and I have some lights.

What information do you require about a venue?

Directions and information on where to park and load my equipment in.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. I always have a suitable playlist at the ready to play between my sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

When I was studying for my Music degree I was lucky enough to be selected to perform as the singer of The Great British Jazz Collective for a big band tour of Lithuania. This is probably the best jazz gig I've done as we got to perform in some major venues.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

My favourite jazz singers are of course Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. Classic and timeless! But I also love more modern takes on jazz by artists such as Jamie Cullum and Jacob Collier. And you can't beat a bit of Buble!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I studied Jazz Vocals and Performance for my Music Degree. Since then I've had my own Jazz Quartet and performed in function bands as well as solo at weddings, events and parties.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love a good wedding! But any event where people are appreciative of my singing and enjoying themselves is brilliant to perform at!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive about an hour before I'm due to sing. My standard set times are 2x45 minute sets.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Of course! But I will require cover for shade and in case of bad weather to protect my equipment.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes! I'm happy to discuss my set list and I'm also happy to learn a couple of songs for you too if you give me enough notice.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I normally get compliments on my voice but also that I can interact with a crowd or pick the right songs to create the perfect atmosphere.

Do you ever perform with musicians?

I have top quality backing tracks originally performed by live musicians but if you prefer the real thing then I have a number of very talented musicians that I work with.
