Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

For my performance, I require one standard car parking space close to the performance area for load-in and load-out. I perform with a compact setup and ask for a clear performance space of approximately 2 metres in diameter (or roughly 2m x 2m), on a flat, stable surface. Access to a single standard power socket (13A) within reasonable reach of the performance area is required. A high stool (bar-height) is appreciated where available, though I can perform standing if needed. I kindly ask that the performance area be positioned away from heavy foot traffic where possible, allowing guests to enjoy the music comfortably while maintaining a natural flow around the event. I’m always happy to be flexible and work with the space provided to ensure everything runs smoothly and enhances the atmosphere of your event.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, I provide my own fully self-contained sound and lighting equipment, tailored to the capacity of confirmed guests at each event. All equipment is PAT tested and designed to deliver clear, balanced sound at an appropriate level for the space, enhancing the atmosphere without overpowering the occasion. I’m always happy to discuss guest numbers or venue requirements in advance to ensure the setup is perfectly suited to your booking.

What information do you require about a venue?

To ensure everything runs smoothly, I kindly ask for basic venue details in advance, including the performance location, access and load-in arrangements, nearby power availability, and any sound restrictions or timing considerations. For outdoor events, a suitable weather contingency is appreciated. Confirming these details ahead of time allows me to plan effectively and deliver the best possible performance.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Backing music adapted and delivered per event depending on individual client request. Helps create the right ambience. For example, chilled instrumental playlists are usually delivered as guests are being seated before a wedding ceremony and recessional music begins. It removes the stresses of having somebody incahrge of mixing sound on the day, and is one less thing to worry about on your special day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Probably one of the most memorable gigs was always the New Years Eve function bands. Leading vocals in venues across the UK getting ready for the audiences to the welcome to new year in, in style!!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Growing up we listen to a whole host of musical genres, styles and artists. Big stand outs for me, were definitely Aretha Franklin, Miss Tina Turner, Jackson 5, Bill Whithers and of course Whitney Houston to name but a few. If we looked into current chart music and I would have to draw a likeness to Sam Smith, an incredible artist from New Zealand called TEEKS and a beautiful singer / songwriter Benedict Cork, based in London. If you haven't heard of ladder artists I would definitely encourage you to go and check them out.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Growing up in a church environment and also my dad being in his own band back in the day, everyday in the walker household is always filled music and singing. I have since through the years been part of my operatic societies and am dram groups. I suppose after covid is when I really started taking music seriously, I started to busk all across the UK build up a social media following and then do the circuit in northern ireland performing in many bars and restaurants. I have found however there is nothing quite like singing at a wedding and being able to have that opportunity to set the mood for a couples most magical day of their lives.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Honestly, weddings weddings weddings! There is no grater pride I get than being able to sing beautiful brides and grooms down the aisle. Creating a special memory in that moment that cannot be replicated.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I like to arrive at least 2 hours before the start of your day. It helps me map out the areas, perhaps if you have booked me for both parts of the day (Ceremony and Drinks Reception) I always endeavour to have both stations set up, so that once the ceremony has finished I can slip Location A to Location B seamlessly. From experience the drinks reception formats that I follow consist of 2x45/50minute sets, between which I would have a 10minute comfort break. With me, everything will run smoothly so if dinner is delayed, certain logistical factors have caused the day to slow down you will receive additional music from me until your guests are ready to be seated. I am also happy to use my equipment to notify guests of the days itinerary.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am very happy to perform outside, given that the correct arrangements have been put in place to weather proof me and my kit. On some occasion depending on capacity I may require a power source, but also have the capabilities of performing battery powered outdoors , which can make my placement very versatile.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I want to make your ceremony music as special as possible, I work alongside a few producers and musicians in the UK to create specific tracks of specific songs. I do however have an incredible set list to choose from. Every event is treated individually and unique on its own. If I can do it, I absolutely will!

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Please find below just a few snippets from my previous couples that I have worked with.

"...... just created that wow factor at our ceremony and drinks reception, we had a lot of people say that they thought there was a recording playing for the entry song, just so so good! We are glad we met him busking in Manchester back in July, it was like it was meant to be! ... Thanks again for everything !"

"I cant begin to thank him enough for his professionalism and the vocals he delivered on our special day, you truly knew how to set the tone"

"When myself and my partner were on the hunt for a wedding singer, we didn't really know where to start or what sort of sound we wanted. We stumbled across The Wedding Cover Singer on spotify and after the first 30 seconds of listening to his cover of Master Blaster by Stevie Wonder, we just had to book him. If you want beautiful soul, and silky smooth vocals, you would be a fool not to book him"
