About / Biography

I am the electric guitarist with Scottish act The Proclaimers. I have been recording and touring with them since 2005. 7 albums and 7 world tours. Zac’s Guitar Jukebox is my one-man show with acoustic and electric guitar. The show is interactive. It is you, the audience, who choose the tunes I’ll play that night. A “menu” of nearly 200 songs is handed to the audience with a piece of paper and a pencil. You choose the music from the menu and hand in your order. Or shout it out if you prefer.

Incorporating 30 years of playing songs from all genres in all sorts of gigs, from festivals to auditoriums, clubs to theatres, there’s something for everyone. I’ve learnt these songs for pleasure, to join bands or do one off events. They are often songs that I love and had to learn every part before it would stop haunting me. Ballads and jazz stand proudly alongside dirty blues and spiky punk as well as some classic indie, pop and rock. Guitar solos are true to the original or outrageous reinterpretations. Random medleys are created through the set from the titles given to me by the audience and as the crowd get more involved, they start to shout out songs not on the list. But sometimes those tunes are somewhere in the back of the jukebox and a wee reminder from the internet makes for a spontaneous musical moment. I’m happy as an old song has been rediscovered and the punter is happy as I’ve just played his wife’s favourite tune!

Perfect for all events and parties especiallY Birthdays and Christmas celebrations.
