Review Centre: Solo Musicians

"James provided 3 hours of musical magic for our wedding on 18/02/23. Having found him on lastminute musicians.com and seen some of his YouTube videos, we contacted him and he replied speedily. Over subsequent months, we emailed, talked and video-called about the details of his set. His own repertoire was vast and we had no difficulty picking out songs we liked. James very generously offered to learn some songs for us too - we nominated a song called The Dancing Floor by Runrig which he sang and played beautifully, bringing his own soulful interpretation to it. James is a very talented singer and guitarist whose use of loop pedals and digital effects produced an extremely full and satisfying sound, more like a band than a solo artist. Our family and friends were very appreciative of his performance, many of whom took to the floor well in advance of the disco that followed! Paula and I would have no hesitation in recommending James for any event where music is required and appreciated. For our wedding, James provided a bespoke, delightful and memorable set which was the centrepiece of our big day and did so with sensitivity and professionalism. Finally, for everything that James did in the preparation and in the performance, he provided astounding value for money. Thanks James for sprinkling your magic dust on our day!"

"We have used Robin MacKenzie for a couple of work events now, he was professional and punctual, attention to detail was spot on and it's obvious he takes great pride in his craft. "Miriam's performances are very popular with our residents. Miriam is always very meticulous in her planning asking for suggestions and remembering individual resident's preferences. Props and lyrics are supplied which results in a polished presentation. Miriam's performances are interactive and inclusive, her musicality and talent are exceptional. We have enjoyed Xmas entertainment as well as 'last night of the proms' and Valentines is in the diary for next year already. We would recommend Miriam wholeheartedly and are happy to be contacted."

"We hired this beautiful lady Irena to sing at my husbands birthday party, she has the most wonderful singing voice you have ever heard. She had everyone up dancing from the moment she started. "We decided to book Gareth after the original organist we had booked to play at our wedding stopped replying to emails. The communication with Gareth was such a breath of fresh air and he really made us feel at ease and took the worry of wedding music away. He played incredibly well and was a pleasure to deal with. The vicar of our ceremony was also very impressed and we would highly recommend him."

"Rebecca arrived before my mother so all was well. I was not over concerned as it was to be a suprise for all the guests. Rebecca was absolutely fantastic and everybody was very complimentary. My mother and all the guests were charmed by the Harp and the music played. I would be very willing to offer a reference if it was ever required. "

"DJ Shel made the night, setting the mood and playing great tracks right through to the last song with his own panache and style, judging the mood on the floor perfectly. Many of our guests commented how good he was: he's clearly extremely talented. We couldn't be happier with the service we got and would strongly recommend him."

"To hear the bagpipes was so emotional for everyone given my Mum's Scottish background and all those that attended her funeral commented on how lovely it was to hear the sound of the bagpipes coming up from the car park and to see you in your beautiful attire. What made it even more special is that you come from Kirkcaldy and my Mum was born in Kelty so both from Fife."
