Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I've performed in Bora Bora on a cruise ship which toured the South Pacific- it was pretty awesome.
Also adored singing in the ruins of an Abbey recently, also was incredible- acoustics were amazing. I love my twice monthly residency at Nola in York- its stunning decor and 1920s vibe suits my style and passion for music from by gone eras. It’s always nice to be invited to perform at Grantley Hall too- Yorkshires most glamourous venue and performing in the gardens at Hampton Court will be one I’ll never forget.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Feeling Good by Nina Simone is my favourite song of all time. I've been lucky enough to perform it alongside a 30 piece band which sounded so powerful. The lyrics are beautiful- as is the sentiment of the song.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Carly's journey as a performer started at a very young age, training as a classical dancer throughout her youth before turning her attention to theatrical and vocal performance. As her passion and talent developed she went on to University gaining her degree in Theatre and Vocal Performance. At the age of just 21 she travelled to the South of France completing her first 8 month international residency as an entertainer and since has taken every opportunity to combine her love of travelling the world and performing.
Carly splits her time in the UK working professionally as vocalist, actress, director, lecturer, creative arts practitioner, and vocal coach. Her passion for performance has seen her tour and perform extensively throughout the UK, performing at theatres, weddings, corporate events, festivals and obtaining residences at various, exclusive venues throughout the UK.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love playing at all different events, from
Corporates to local pub gigs- it’s really nice to mix it up. Weddings are always lovely- Soaking up the love, happy vibes and all round incredible atmosphere is just wonderful. I love to see people dancing, smiling and loving life to my performances too!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I usually arrive an hour before my start time if I'm performing solo or with my duo.
Usually I perform 2 x 45min sets but i'm happy to work with venues and clients to fit their agendas.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside but I ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Happy to work alongside the client to tailor a set list that suits them best!

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

"Carly put on a great show, playing all of our favourites but also playing to the crowd. The type of music played appeals to all generations. Our guests loved it and the dance floor was always buzzing!

The sound and setup was very professional, as noted by several musicians who were guests at the wedding. My wife and I had such a great time, we would like to do the whole thing again just to book Carly!
