In the Merseybeat era he played in the Liverpool band The Radiation at iconic nightclubs such as the Blue Angel and Beachcomber. He joined the 1970s band Unity, styled after Blood Sweet & Tears, and played venues across the wider Northwest. He turned to jazz 15 years ago spending time at the Wirral Music Factory and discovering Charles Mingus’s pivotal album Ah Um. His favourite genre is bossa nova.
Currently bassist with the Night Shift Jazz Collective, Swing Era big band, Heswall Concert Band, 3 Over Par function band.
