Jack Mansell is a young but very experienced guitar player, specialising in fingerstyle playing, where he puts his own spin on popular songs, taking a "one man band" approach to playing. Starting playing at the age of 7, Jack very quickly began to progress and is now one of the most exciting talents of his generation. Jack has huge versatility in his playing and has songs to match the mood of any event. I am most influenced by the Manic Street Preachers, but have been raised on every strand of popular music from the 90s backwards.
I have played around 10-15 events, from proposals, weddings, vow renewals etc. I began at the age of 16 and have slowly developed my act and repertoire.
Wedding reception. I like the idea that people can choose their level of interaction, whether they want to really listen to my playing or whether they just want it as background music to relax to.
Setup is very quick, around 5 minutes.
Absolutely, but if it will be cold a cup of tea and some gloves are appreciated to not hinder my playing!
How I play doesn't lend itself too well to on-the-spot requests, however upon taking bookings I always ask for any special requests to learn to make the day better.
Relaxing music, full of songs that people know and can sing along to, but also a style of playing that can be solely background music.
No! I combine all parts of a song onto one instrument - rhythm, instrumentation, melody to make up for not doing so. Please see my videos and it'll make more sense!
