The Newland Seekers Popular singalong songs for weddings, parties and events

The Newland Seekers are based in Forest of Dean / Wye Valley. Their mission is to get you dancing and singing along to well known popular songs.

Nev and Russ started the band just after covid, playing at local pubs and friend's parties. Nev is the singer - a charming, witty and articulate chap who plays acoustic guitar. He's a natural frontman and performer with an ability to connect with any audience and put them at ease. His grade 3 CSE in German is useful, especially if you need a band for Oktoberfest. Russ plays electric guitar and sings harmony vocals. He's not quite as good socially as Nev. In fact, his affliction for saying weird and confusing things is sometimes so terrible that he leaves all the on-stage patter to Nev. Only occasionally will he roll his eyes if Nev's praise for his adequate guitar playing becomes too extravagant. Over time they started to get the help of a revolving cast of excellent rhythm section players: Phil The Cajon, who they are lucky to get whenever he's not being a pirate; Nick, bassist, percussionist, guitar player, and Dude; Jay, ('Newland Kid on the Block'), drummer with a soon-to-be famous thrash metal band; Garfield (Russ's brother), bassist who lives in Yorkshire but comes down whenever he can; Mike, a very groovy bassist and pro; Garry, top drummer, percussionist and harmony singer, and finally, young Will ('Wee Willy Mac'), rhythm guitar player who they are training for the big time. When this happens they will give up trying to be rock stars, go into management, put Will and his young friends on a wage, and get all the money themselves.

They have full PA and lighting.

They can also be flexible - play as an acoustic duo for a mellower and more intimate feel, or as a 4-piece band for the full dancefloor experience. Whatever your occasion, we can bring some good sounds and some fun. Cheers!
