Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

My basic technical requirements are:

2 standard power sockets near the performance area
A small table or suitable surface for my mixing desk
Easy access to the performance area for loading in equipment
A private area to get changed, take breaks, eat, and safely store personal belongings
A hot meal and refreshments for all bookings

I always aim to be as self-sufficient as possible, and these simple provisions allow me to prepare properly, stay energised, and deliver the best performance possible on the day.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes - I'll provide a professional PA system along with all the necessary equipment and cabling for the performance.

Lighting isn't included as standard, but I do offer optional lighting packages to suit everything from intimate performances to larger celebrations. Just let me know what you're planning, and I'll recommend the best setup for your event.

What information do you require about a venue?

To help us prepare properly and ensure everything runs smoothly, we’ll need the following venue information:

Parking arrangements and access details for unloading equipment
A suitable private area/dressing room for breaks and storing personal belongings
Whether the venue has a sound limiter installed
Any other restrictions, curfews, or venue-specific requirements
Performance area details and access information

The more information we have in advance, the better we can tailor the setup and make sure the performance runs seamlessly on the day.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can provide music before and between sets.

A curated playlist service is included for:

Up to 15 minutes before the performance begins
Up to 30 minutes during the break between sets

Additional playlist time before or after the performance is available at £50 per hour.

I also offer a DJ-style hosted music service at £125 per hour, where I take care of the music throughout the event — managing the playlist, taking requests, making announcements via microphone where needed, and helping maintain the atmosphere and energy in the room. It’s a great option for clients who want the flow and interaction of a DJ experience without booking a separate DJ.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I've been fortunate enough to perform at festivals and all sorts of large-scale events over the years, but the standout has to be singing as a backing vocalist for Laville at The O2 Arena, supporting John Legend.

As for my favourite venue, it's hard to look past The O2. The scale, the atmosphere, and sharing the stage on a bill with an artist of that calibre made it a pretty unforgettable experience!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Chaka Khan is always the first name that springs to mind. She's an incredible vocalist and performer, and definitely one of my biggest influences.

That said, my musical tastes are all over the place! I've been inspired by everything from soulful and gospel house to UK garage, '90s and early 2000s R&B, neo soul artists like Musiq Soulchild and Dru Hill... but I also love the wonderfully left-field artists like The Prodigy and Björk.

If you're curious, my repertoire says it all - I only ever perform songs I genuinely love, and I think that's what makes my performances feel authentic.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I met our first guitarist in 2011, and what began as a humble acoustic duo evolved into a full acoustic band the following year .

Over the years, it's blossomed into a handpicked collective of some of my favourite musicians in London (also listed on LMM as Diamonds & Pearls). We've performed at hundreds of weddings, alongside luxury hotels, exclusive private parties, and all kinds of incredible venues. No matter the setting, our goal has always been the same: to bring great music, a relaxed atmosphere, and a performance that feels just right for the occasion.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Honestly, I don't have a favourite. I know that sounds like a bit of a cop-out, but as long as people are enjoying the music, I'm happy.

Whether it's a smile and a thumbs-up across a pub, someone quietly swaying along over dinner in a restaurant, or a full-blown dance battle at a wedding, it's all the same to me! Seeing people connect with live music (whatever that looks like) is the best part of the job.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

- maximum 30 min set up time for solo performance
- maximum 30 min pack down
- £40 per hour per musician waiting time
- overnight bookings require 50% of rate for additional days spent
- performance time to be used within 3 hour window

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes - on flat, smooth surface and with shelter if necessary (potential rain or extreme heat) and with sufficient power.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I will always send my repertoire to my client, ask that they highlight any 'loves', any 'avoids' and then leave the rest to me. I will always pick crowd favourites, my favourites, and always the right tune for the moment. I never have a *set in stone* set list, every client and every gig is different.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

A comment I get very often is "I thought it was the original tune playing, I had no idea there was a live singer until I saw you!" I absolutely have to take this as a compliment because it's definitely not my style to over-sing, and I always perform each song in its original key - male vocalist or female!

But overall it's our song choices that get the most compliments which I'm very proud about. I've always been a bit picky with the songs I play because I believe you need to love what you're singing, represent yourself authentically, and anyway the covers world needs to bring back a bit of taste and ditch the cheese as there's already far too much of it!
