Review Centre: Swing Bands

"I booked the lads from Below the Border for my wife's 60th birthday party and they were exactly as described. Brilliant musicians one and all and they kept everyone dancing until well after midnight with popular rock hits from the 70s and that swingy blues that you just HAVE to get up and dance to (no matter how old you are!) Lovely chaps too. Polite, eductated, down to earth, and they have that dry sense of humour musicians often have. I thoroughly recommend them. And we were AMAZED at how cheap they were for such a brilliant band. I don’t think they’re playing for the money! Just incredible guitar playing. "Just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you for Friday night. You were absolutely amazing, and better than we imagined. The staff have all said how brilliant you were. Thank you for being part of our Works party. We really enjoyed having you there and the music you played was just what we wanted and hoped for. "I was very nervous, while organising my wedding party, but clear communication from Maya, personalised service made me feel really confident about this part of the evening. We wanted 4 piece band and Maya made it happened for a very reasonable price! Wedding took place at the boat, which made it a bit harder for the band, but with no adverse effect on the quality of the entertainment. Music has been discreet when we needed it and then they really got the crowd going. Guests really appreciated their presence on the night. The band was talented, polite, friendly and accommodating and they even took last minute song requests. Maya, from the bottom of my heart – many thanks for being part of our big day!"

"What can I say these guys are simply GLORIOUS! Definitely not your average wedding band. We booked them after I saw them do Disneys King of the singers at Golden Acre Park (A personal guilty pleasure of mine) and asked them if they do weddings. Which thankfully they do! After starting with some more mellow swing outdoors as a duo, we had the pleasure of the full band in the evening. They played two full sets of upbeat swing as well as quirky covers of popular songs such as Moloko's Bring it back and Britney Spears Toxic, creating an electric atmosphere. What's more they gave it their all and you could tell they enjoyed themselves too. We couldn't have wished for more. Oly is a showman and got everyone dancing up a storm, but the whole band went above and beyond in our opinion to entertain and delight, they even co-ordinated the first dance and did our Dj set. They were very accommodating and flexible, and gave us all the reassurance we needed as our date came closer. This is important especially if like us you are arranging every detail by yourself (and therefore have no grounds for comparison). To have confidence in your suppliers is priceless. Big thank you to the The Dixie Rhythm Busters. You ROCKED our wedding!!!"

"We booked Fann Street Hot Club after hearing them play in London. Booking them was probably one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding! As Jan knows, so many of our other plans fell through, the worst of which being we suddenly had to change the venue!! But the band fit in seamlessly with all the chaos, and were absolutely wonderful. We couldn't thank them enough for everything they did to help make our wedding day the best day of our lives. We would highly recommend Fann Street Hot Club to anyone, without hesitation.
