Review Centre: Musicians Services

"This was my first time using Chris and it was for a musical theatre production of 'Godspell' at the Hasland Theatre. Chris came recommended by a friend of mine (Adam Parrish) after he did the sound engineering for a concert Adam had recently done with Gordon Giltrap. Well what can I say - Chris did an amazing job! He came along for a preliminary meeting with me where we looked around the venue, talked about the requirements for the show which included a live 4 piece band and 10 wireless headset radio mics. Chris then gave a full explanation of what equipment he thought was required to make a great sound within the venue, how much time he would have to dedicate to the project and from that came up with a quote for us. We confirmed it all over email and then it was just a matter of waiting for show week to roll around. This came at the end of March and Chris arrived with all the equipment he needed and got set up ready to go. It was great that the equipment he had was all digital and took up a very small amount of space and that he was able to control it all from his iPad at the back of the theatre, since there was literally no room for him to be anywhere else. Several of the band members commented on how great it was that Chris asked them before every show about their individual monitor mixes, if anything needed changing, if Chris needed to be aware of any issues from previous nights etc and are still talking about it now as something like that which seems really obvious and simple makes a huge difference to those playing and performing. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris even when I had to ask for some additional monitors to be placed on the stage as the actors were struggling to hear the musicians he just turned up with speaker stands and monitors and got them plugged in and ready for the following nights performance. Amazing! It is also important to note Chris's attitude throughout the entire process. Putting on a musical is an exceedingly stressful thing to do and I was having to think about a lot of things throughout the run, but Chris remained calm, level-headed and had a very calming presence which was commented on by several cast members and others within the creative team, which is just what you want in a high stress environment. He was great to work with and lots of laughs were had throughout the week amongst the whole team who he worked well with. A very quick and speedy break down and get out on the Saturday night wrapped everything up nicely. Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into making our show sound amazing and we really cannot wait to be working with you again hopefully in the very near future."

"Dear Tim, I just wanted to say thank you and tell you what a fantastic night both Kieran and I had on our wedding night. You interpreted the music beautifully and placed the songs brilliantly. Everyone but everyone came up to me and told me how brilliant the music was, which made me feel proud too. Once people started dancing, they didn't stop. The only downside was that I just didn't stop dancing, since every song had been hand picked, they were all my favourite songs, so had to be danced to. Thank you so much Tim you were excellent. I tried very hard not to miss any songs, however, unfortunately, I missed Salt and Peppa as I chose that moment to go to the toilet. What a shame. I cannot thank you enough."

"The guys are amazing to work with! Nothing is too much trouble or a silly question. They go above and beyond and our first beer and music festival was a hit. I wouldn’t have wanted to use anyone else! From the beginning until even after the event the guys were incredible and the best! With so much to do, lighting and sound was something I didn’t have to worry about. Great communication coming from them without me having to go to them, a long time in advance. Highly recommend for everyone for great quality not only for sound and lighting but also for every other aspect like professionalism, friendliness, helpful, commitment, communication, knowledge…. Absolutely everything about these guys is 5*! Thank you so much guys!"

"BH sound and Lighting hire were amazing throughout the entire process. They were helpful guiding us to what equipment we needed for our wedding based on how we intended the day to go. They were accomodating with delivery and collection times. And on the day of delivery, they took lots of time to help us understand how to use the equipment. They are also just really good people. Would 100% recommend!"

"We just wanted to drop you a line today to tell you what a fantastic evening we had. Everything was perfect the whole way through and you were absolutely superb, and you had that place rocking! In fact lot's of people couldn't get off the dance floor to get a drink at the bar because he didn't stop playing great tunes! We were sorry he had to stop playing at the end as we could have gone on all night. Everyone said it was the best wedding disco they'd ever been to by far and I'd have to agree with that, we couldn't have asked for more. "John was a lovely chap, he played a good range of music along with any special requests. Nothing was too much trouble for John and he kept intouch in the run up to our wedding and was keen to understand what we wanted. When the dancefloor wasn't empty when the night was coming to an end he was happy to stay on for another hour. "

"We have some pretty high-end clients and it was important. We set a very cute impression. DJ Mavrick played some incredible songs, but he also mingled with our clients and asked them their favourite songs so that he either sang them or played them. You don’t get many DJs who go out into the crowds. They usually stick behind their desks and hide away not to be bothered but DJ Maverick mad that even the stiffest of our clients loosened up and boogied on down. I still have clients who talk about that night and we’ve booked him for our Christmas party."
