"Venezuelan soprano Sofia slipped in, in splendidly soulful isolation, in sleepy-slinky Barnes. Sofia’s charm comes from an ability to engage with her audience with vivacity, a slow waving of the arms or a thumbs-up cheekily pepping things up. This was a two-way process, for the audience, although in their own homes, were there via a livestream chat facility, commenting, praising and importantly requesting numbers. What were requested? Jazz standards, show numbers and some current pieces rubbed shoulders with languid classics sung in French or torrid numbers in her native Spanish. The jazz standards were impressively and beautifully sung. Cole Porter’s 1944 classic, Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye and Meredith Willson’s 1950 show tune ‘Til There Was You, had just the right balance of poignancy and warmth of these post-war nostalgic gentle pieces. The mood changes, but not the sincerity of the singing, with the traditional folk song, The House of the Rising Sun, retaining the blues feel of a song that became the “first folk rock hit”. Then, we were transported to the late sixties with the Aretha Franklin version of I Say a Little Prayer For You. Her skill in Latin American music was epitomised by the famous bolero, written by Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez, Bésame Mucho. Sofia’s soft but passionate treatment of the lyrics harked back to the dreamy sensuality of the 1940 original. I expect many of her fans were responding by blowing her lots of kisses. Nevertheless, it was not in a Spanish song that Sofia excelled, but in French. Of course, it had to be Edith Piaf’s immortalised song to love, La Vie en Rose. Perfectly rendered, both in words and music, and fervent in its performance, she expressed exactly the powered of infatuated love. Great stuff, and good to see today’s vie en rose. In these straightened times, we all need occasionally to see the world through rose-tinted spectacles. "

"These guys rock! I am the promoter at Slim Jim's Liquor Store and I highly recommend these guys, a safe bet when you want the crowed at your bar to sing along with the band, they really know how to interact with the public Great selection of music covered by amazing musicians. They will be a regular act at Slim Jim's Liquor Store."

"Absolutely brilliant band, everyone loved them at the wedding and we saw them playing in Warrington also. You won't be disappointed. Gets the crowd dancing and singing away and even learnt new songs for our night. Not forgetting they play Come and get your love from one of our fav films Guardians of the galaxy which we also danced down the Isle to. "

"Blue Jewel played for us at a birthday party, they were 'toe tapping amazing'!.... Friendly guys and very professional. We had any guests asking the name of the band and complementing us on the choice of music. Would DEFINATELY reccomend and book again. Thanks boys."

Edina has performed for us during the night and has been an amazing performer throughout the night. we couldn't have dreamed of something better for our event. Thank you again for your professionalism and your music. Out of 70 customers, everyone loved you. I definitely recommend this wonderful lady for anyone that has organised a "mexican/Latin" night. "

"What can we say?! You guys were fantastic, we had so much fun as did our guests who have not stopped with the compliments since. It was our first ceilidh dance like many of our guests but it mattered not at all, Kip was brilliant at calling the moves and getting everyone up on their feet having a go and managing to get us holding it together which is no mean feat when it comes to rhythmically challenged mates!! And for those of my guests who have been to many a ceilidh dance, they too couldn't praise the band highly enough and all said it was the best they have been to. One very happy bride :-) I'd recommend Blue Jewel to anybody wanting to inject some fun into any party - the perfect ice breaking, crowd pleasing entertainment, everyone can join in and have a blast, no rhythm required!! "

"Great DJ & Sax Great service from the very beginning. James always called on time, they arrived on the day promptly, dressed accordingly. Ben on sax is excellent, so many of our guests commented. Ben even learned a very special song that we had requested. We would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a band / DJ /Sax."
