Review Centre: Guitarists

"If you haven't seen Grace before, or if it's a while since you last saw her, you're in for a nice surprise. It's unusual to witness anyone who can silence an audience with their ability to play, sing and visually entertain. A small crowd of music lovers in a tastefully furnished bar in the back streets of St Albans, we were there to listen and to be part of the moment. Grace and pretention don't mix. Maybe she has the most apt name of anyone you'll ever see play live. (Actually, Joy would have worked too.) You can tell that she adores what she does; while there's the odd moment of wild abandonment in Grace's performance, her poise is unshakeable and the music is always from the soul and shared with passion. Grace plays with a pair of mics and a dual pedal-based multi-layered loop station. Her songs build, bar by bar, making it fascinating not only to hear, but to see, live music being created in front of you. She played a few covers with the loop station, but her own songs, some of which were played live, some with original backing tracks, stood out too. I'd say that Grace's vocal control is amongst the best I've heard: strong and confident but comfortable and warming all at the same time. The guitar playing was tasteful, rhythmic and melodic. No keyboard this time, but to be honest, we didn't miss it. Grace handled us - including a rather bizarre heckler - with gentle skill and natural humour. Next time you question your existence whilst sitting on your TV sofa, remember two important things: that there's an invention called catch-up TV on the Internet, and that an evening spent with Grace G is a rare opportunity not to be missed."

"We were looking for an artist that didn't use backing tracks for our upcoming wedding. We saw Jon playing at a local bar in Wales and decided to book him . The whole process was seamless. He rang us to discuss the set-list and if we wanted anything inparticular. He also turned up well in advance too, so we could chat about the day ahead . He played our drinks reception and the afternoon Meal, which went down a STORM! People were commenting for days about what a great voice he had and what a good mix of songs he played. Aside from that, he was a lovely friendly chap and we will definitely book him again in the future. "

"Steven was fantastic from start to finish. As soon as we booked him he kindly called us to have a chat about what we were looking for, and always answered our questions and emails quickly and with a really friendly approach. On the day, the music he played for our wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect - he even kindly learned two songs for us. We had several guests comment on how great the set was - we can't recommend Steven enough. Great guy and wonderful musician. Thanks a million :)"

"Vicki played at my wedding on the weekend and im so glad we had a wedding singer as Vicki just made the day extra special for us. She is an amazing singer and sang each song that we picked beautifully, we had so many lovely comments from our guests. "Andy was great from initial contact to the day, he arrived with plenty of time and setup and created a beautiful ambiance to what would be our special day with 2 x 45 minute sets of which entailed of great songs. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see much of the sets due to getting the wedding pictures (joys of being the groom) but everyone has commented on how fantastic Andy was and how great it was to have him at the reception drinks. Personally I don’t think the hotel placed him in the right place for everyone to fully appreciate his work as people where scattered all over the hotel which is a shame but no reflection on Andy as he was brilliant! I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again - Great guy, hopefully I’ll have the pleasure of seeing him live in the future! Be sure to book ?"

"I hired Tom to sing at my fathers funeral six years ago. My father was such a keen guitarist and I knew he would have absolutely loved this. Tom was amazing, so professional and we were blown away with his talent. So much so that he was the first person we booked after securing our wedding venue in September. Again he was absolutely amazing and completely made our day by singing all the songs in the ceremony and the reception after. He even learned a new song that he didn’t know to sing and play guitar to as I walked down the aisle and he did it perfectly. Such a nice, super talented, professional musician. We can not thank him enough! "
