Review Centre: 1920s, 30s & 40s Style Bands

"We could not be happier with Phil and his AMAZING big band. Right from the very outset things started well as he was very friendly in our conversations and happy to accommodate requests based on our tastes, as well as make his own suggestions (which we of course trusted given his experience!) When it came to the day itself the band were efficient at setting up and getting ready. Finally, the performance... WOW! 80% of the people invited to our wedding were professional musicians and the amount of positive comments was overwhelming. The band played lots of our favourites to keep us happy (including an amazing performance of In the Mood at end the evening), as well as plenty of classics to keep everyone on the dance floor (which, incidentally, was absolutely packed for the whole evening, which is something I've never witnessed before at a wedding, so that in itself is a testament to just how good and entertaining this band is). They even played a few strict tempo numbers which made our ballroom dancing friends very happy indeed. All in all the band and the vocalists were absolutely fantastic and we couldn't recommend them higher. They made our wedding all the more special and unique and we cannot thank them enough. Need a big band? Look no further! Phil's your man!!"

"I hired these guys for my 30th birthday party as I am a big jazz enthusiast and boy did they deliver. It felt like a mixture of stepping into the past with their older repertoire and reliving the present with the newer stuff that they play. Great energy and stage presence as well. Couldn't recommend enough."

"The boys recently played our wedding and we are so so glad that we chose them. They are all three lovely people and they put in an absolute shift, really going above and beyond what we'd asked. Jelly Roll were such a wonderful addition to our day and they thoroughly deserved the absolutely enormous round of applause they got from every single guest on their way out. We'll absolutely be booking them again for our anniversary parties to come!"

"Swing is the Thing played at our wedding and were absolutely sensational. Suzanne and all the band contributed to making our wedding absolutely fantastic. The music was perfect and every single guest commented on how brilliant the group was. They adapted to our schedule, had been in touch beforehand to enquire as to whether or not we had any particular requests, and tailored their performance to our evening. From dedicating a special song to the two of us, to performing in a charismatic, lively and thoroughly enthusiastic way, we couldn't have wished for a better band or nicer group of people. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this band for any event - they were well and truly fabulous and we feel so grateful that they played for our wedding. Even their outfits contributed to creating a fantastic atmosphere! Thank you Swing is the Thing!"

"Swing Kings performed at our party on Saturday. We had a 5 piece, including vocals, and they were fabulous. They did 3 x 40 minute sets for us, and they judged the type of music we wanted perfectly. I would highly recommend them."

"I’ve had the pleasure of watching both Daisy and the band perform numerous times at different venues, always an 11/10 performance. Great to see how well they engage the audience, changing the dynamic the suit the mood of the night or the feedback they’re getting from the crowd - never fail to get everyone up and dancing which is just what you want to see. Also refreshing that Daisy is well versed on equipment and is able to fine tune the sound depending on the environment she’s playing in. There’s no one else I’d rather book, if you’re after someone that cares as much about the audience experience as you do, look no further."
