Review Centre: Bagpipers

"Chris came to play his pipes for our family gathering at Abbotsford House in Melrose in August 2022. He played for around 45 minutes and we were absolutely delighted with his performance. As well as playing many of the usual pipe tunes, Chris was also happy to play a few requests such as the Skye Boat song and Mull of Kintyre. Chris was a real professional: communication before the event was very easy and responsive, and on the day he travelled from Glasgow to be with us, arriving perfectly on time. Chris was immaculately turned out, and was happy to stay on for photos and chatting at the end of his set. Chris is very personable and professional, I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a piper for a family or professional gathering."

"We booked Glen from Glens Bagpiping to come to our home on New Year’s Evening and he was absolutely fantastic. If you’re thinking of hiring a traditional Scottish bagpiper for a special occasion, we would highly recommend him as he’s very talented. He’s a lovely lad and the sound of the pipes was absolutely stunning — powerful, traditional and very moving! Glen played a beautiful selection of tunes including Highland Cathedral, Mull of Kintyre, Amazing Grace, Scotland the Brave and Scots Wha Hae, which he kindly played as a special request for my mum. She was so moved by the music and the tradition that she had happy tears. It made the evening truly memorable for all of us. It was meant to be a 20-minute booking but Glen played for around 30 minutes, which we really appreciated. Hearing the pipes played live in our home created such a special atmosphere. Thank you Glen for making our New Year’s Evening so special. We would absolutely book you again ."

"What can I say apart from you are an absolute star and consummate gentleman! Thank you so very much for your wonderful contribution to the success of our special day. From our first conversation on the telephone I knew you were the perfect choice for us. You are not only an accomplished performer you had a real and human interest in getting the day right for all of us. Such thought and attention to detail is rare - the ability to look at all sides, potential problems and offer suggestions in a manner that we welcomed is even more elusive. You have it all and we hope very much that you realise your value. Your appearance, stance and demeanour were perfect - so many of our guests commented on those aspects that had you not even raised the pipe I suspect you would have still spread joy - however your playing was beautiful and so right for the occasion. We must commend you on your ability to quite simply keep going during the playing in of the guests to the reception - there were so many to greet and the lay person has little idea regarding the physical demands on the Piper. After the event we were spoken to by a good number of guests who simply wanted to tell us how much the Piper had delighted them. One guest said 'it was my favourite part of the day' - he had found it most uplifting as did many others. We will be receiving our photographs soon and will make sure that we send you a couple of nice ones that you can use for your website. We were so lucky to find you Richard. "

"We would like to say thank you again for playing at our wedding last month, you really added something special to the celebration. From the earliest planning stages it was very important to me that we would have a piper playing some of the tunes I knew from all the Highland Games my dad took me to as a youngster. I had the window open in the room at the hotel where I was getting ready so I could hear you clearly. You were brilliant on the day, going above and beyond the call of duty throughout, and were glad we chose you. It was very good of you to stay on as long as you did. We hadn't even considered being piped into the meal, but it was a lovely way to introduce the next part of the day. Very best wishes, and thanks again. Neil & Anna. PS: Thanks for "Hector the Hero". "I was so lucky to find LMM as this was the first time I had tried to organise anything like this. The success of the whole event was with Patrick our Piper knowing exactly what was possible and that gave us confidence as we were a little out of our depth. The process from first contacting LMM was exceptionally well co-ordinated - it was our Special Event and it went fantastically, we can't praise LMM Team enough."

"It was a total surprise when you appeared at Balmoral Hotel where I was staying and played me 'happy birthday' followed by some lovely fast tunes. So thankful for my family booking you. "Julia did a fantastic job at our daughter’s wedding, playing outside the church as all the guests arrived and then playing for my husband and daughter as they walked right up the church path. She kept us very well informed before the date and came up with loads of ideas and options to make the entry into church really special. It was a sizzling June day and Julia was in full regalia but I never saw her flag. Professional, cheerful, great bagpipe playing, what more could you ask?"
