Having started playing the Bagpipes at age eight, Glen brings over 16 years of experience and more than 9 years of professional performance to every booking. His background combines serious competition pedigree with extensive commercial event work, giving him the technical precision and composure to handle any occasion with confidence.

Competition highlights include the UK Pipe Band Championships in Belfast and the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, performing alongside the finest pipers in the world.

Notable career credits include performances at Edinburgh Castle and the National Museum of Scotland, a studio recording session at Abbey Road Studios and a Bollywood feature film, with international television appearances including Salvage Hunters.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

None, just a 1 m by 1 m space to play, and a cover if it is raining heavily to protect the pipes.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

No, none needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Piping at Edinburgh Castle was pretty amazing, or Abbey Road Studios in the same room the recorded the Star Wars soundtrack.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

It all started at my auntie's wedding when I was 12. From there, it grew organically, one booking leading to the next, until I had played at thousands of events across the UK. I am now lucky enough to do this full-time, which is something I am so grateful for.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

What are your typical setup and performance times?
I arrive at least 30 minutes before I am needed, usually more. As a solo piper there is no setup required, so I am ready to play from the moment I arrive. Performance time is flexible and agreed in advance, whether that is a short processional, a 20-minute arrival set, or a longer reception performance.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, completely happy to perform outside. Should it rain heavily, shelter ti protect the pipes is preferred.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely. I am happy to take requests and will always discuss song choices before the event. If there is something specific you want that is not in my current repertoire, and if it can be played on the pipes, I am happy to learn it. I know hundreds of tunes, so it is impossible to write them all down. I may well already know it!

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Reliable, professional, and genuinely moving. Across weddings, funerals, and private occasions, guests consistently comment on the quality of the playing and the atmosphere it creates. Clients regularly mention that Glen is flexible with requests, easy to communicate with from first contact to the day itself, and that the bagpipes added something to their event they could not have imagined without. At funerals in particular, families describe the piping as respectful, perfectly judged, and deeply meaningful. The word that comes up most is unforgettable.
