Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I have all my own equipment, consisting of several PA's of varying sizes and I choose what I need for the event after discussing room size/available space etc. with the client. My Disco/Karaoke consists of a high, two-tier stand, enclosed with a STAR-CLOTH which, is a multi-coloured, light-sequencing system and looks amazing.
I have a very long extension cable should this be necessary.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes. I have all my own top-drawer equipment, including PA and lights etc. A fog-machine is also available but, must be requested at the time of booking.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. If I'm just booked to sing, I do provide great music in between sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I've done many, many big gigs (Internationally, too) and, can't recall ever having a bad one? To name a top one in recent years, I'd say last year, 2022, first singing, then DJ-ing at Manchester's Belle Vue Speedway Stadium, for the trophy presentation night, after they'd just become National Champions again for the first time in 29 years.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

As a singer, the best song of all time is 'Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline' as, everyone knows it, young or, old and, they ALL sing along to it! As a DJ, it's probably a toss-up between 'The Gap Band - Oops up side your head' or, 'Robin S - Show me love' - Both songs get everyone up and involved and, they're pretty much 'Must-Plays!' at any event.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I first sang at just 15 years old, in a Rock Band, with much older members. I first started DJ-ing in Germany in the early 90's, after clients (for my Singing) began asking me if I could also recommend a good DJ to accompany me at future big events. I began Karaoke DJ-ing in 1996.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I do and, have done almost every type of event out there but, I guess the big events, such as weddings, Corporate do's, big birthdays etc., where the clients are getting a lot of attention and, just need someone to make it run smoothly in the background, looking after all of their guests, leaving them free to mingle, gives me the best opportunity to show how good I am in this business which, of course, is my job.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

As a singer, a Comedian or, a mix of both, it takes me just 15 minutes to set up and sound-check. I usually do 2 X 45 minutes but, I'm flexible and can do much longer if required. I can also shorten it, if required
As a DJ and or Karaoke DJ, it takes me circa 45 minutes to set up my equipment and do a sound check. Time isn't really an issue here as, if I take the job, I'm there to make sure your guests are well entertained and I'll see it through 'til the end.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside but, I ask for some kind of weather protection, a flat level surface and, a power supply close to the performance area. I've actually done many outside events.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Clients may of course request a few songs that they'd like me to sing however; like everyone else in this business who has a lot of experience, I have sets that I 'KNOW' work exceptionally well. I can also gauge an audience just by looking and, I will know what they would like to hear.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I can honestly say, hand on heart, I have never had a bad experience and, my feedbacks are testimony to this. I work incredibly hard, week in, week out to keep my voice in prime condition and, I never stop learning new songs, that I know will work well for everyone.
