"Phil is a very talented musician. I booked him for a surprise proposal and he did above and beyond my expectation! He was a great singer/ acoustic player, handled the crowd very well and was great at communicating before the event. I would recommend him to anyone for any events!"

"Rob did a fantastic job for us at the birthday party. He was well prepared, extremely friendly and played an excellent selection of music .All the guests commented on how well the music had complemented the occasion. I would highly recommend. "

"Joanne 's recital, though short because of our time constraints was very well received and the common thought was it was the highlight of the evening. More was definitely needed but we ran out of time .Unfortunate, if I had been more aware we would have had Joanne's talents on display a lot earlier in the evening "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / Multicultural Ceilidh / May 2025 Many thanks to Black Velvet for the fab barn dance for my husband’s 60th. We set them the challenge of providing all-age, muslim-friendly dances for a multicultural community; Our guests included friends and neighbours from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Somalia, South Africa and Cameroon. Mike and his band rose to the occasion with single sex sets, non gendered calling, and a clever choice of dances (including one with no physical contact at all!). We were so impressed with the attention to detail that enabled everyone to take part. Here are quotes from two of our younger guests: “That was the best evening of my whole life,” Radman, aged 8 “Please can you invite me to your next birthday party when you are 61,” Rayan, aged 8"

"I have worked alongside Natasha at numerous events as both a fellow performer and sound engineer. She is always on time, prepared and extremely professional. She never fails puts in a fantastic performance and is a pleasure to work with. I can’t recommend her enough!"

"Christopher was amazing at my wedding. Great communication before the big day. keeping my guests entertained during an hour set when it was drinks in the bar. Christopher is professional and has an amazing voice. thank you for being part of our day."

"We enjoyed a simply superb Evening with Rod at Burhill on Friday where we met the delightful Paul backstage. Paul helped our little boy, who became an instant fan, with his request for the pre-show music. After dinner Paul transformed into Rod and played a superb set that had the whole place rocking. Brilliant night, thanks to Paul and Strangey Promotions. "

"The girls made a big hit at our meeting. They turned up on time to set up and performed two sets for us. They managed to get people up on their feet and helped produce a great atmosphere. They sounded good and looked good as well. We would use them again. I have to mention that our timings went over and they did not complain about being kept late."

"Hired Tim for my 50th birthday and I’m so glad we chose him. Tim is an accomplished musician and a great singer. He has a wide repertoire of songs from different genres of music. He was engaging and took numerous request. I would definitely hire Tim again. "

"We hired the 6-piece band for our wedding celebration at Seckford Hall. Even before meeting Tracy (the lead singer) we were impressed with their communication and enthusiasm. On the evening itself the band were organised and professional, and looked smart. Our guests said that they loved the band and by the end of the evening everyone was up and dancing. We would higly recommend the Back2Skool Band!"
