Review Centre: Soul Bands

"January 29, 2025) UK based singer/songwriter Richie Sampson is a veteran of the soul music scene. When the legendary pop/soul band the Foundations (“Build Me Up, Buttercup”, “Baby Now That I Found You”) came back together with an updated lineup, Sampson was tapped as their lead singer. He also toured with legends from the Three Degrees to George McCrae as well as lead his own group, Soul Kinda Wonderful. Soul Kinda Wonderful’s new single, “You You (Are Everything),” is garnering spins and streams from Spotify to the now-temporarily resuscitated Tik Tok. The arrangement is rooted in 80’s retro pop/soul, accented by trademark synthesizer hits and anchored by the electronic rhythm section from that period. Sampson’s vocals are strong and assertive, which carries the song’s message to one’s love with great confidence. Overall, a very cheery number. Great to see artists such as Richie Sampson and Soul Kinda Wonderful bring the classic sounds from way back to the present day. Looking forward to more great music from them in the near future. "Junction 2 played at our Wedding on Saturday the 2nd August and 24 hours later we are still in shock at how unbelievably good the band were, and we are on cloud 9!! Every single guest have said how good the band were. We can honestly say that Junction 2 are the best soul and motown band we have ever heard (and we have seen the Four Tops and Temptations!). From start to finish they were very professional and kept every guest in high spirits and dancing the night away!!! I have already enquired to book the band for my 40th birthday and we can't wait to see them again. If you have a function booked with Junction 2 believe me you will NOT be disappointed they are fantastic. Again on behalf of myself, my new wife and all the wedding guests we would like to say a massive thank you for making our very special day even more special! A day that we will never forget!!! "What a cracking night we had yesterday. Sarah's dazzling voice and stage presence, and a top-class band doing full justice to 30+ soul classics and a bit of bonus Motown and Ska as well! "Please thank the band so much, we truly think they made the occasion all the more special. They definitely added a WOW factor. Our guests have all commented on how great they were. They allowed and actively encouraged audience participation which delighted many of our guests (especially the ones who could actually sing!). They arrived early and were very accommodating to our schedule as we did run slightly behind. Having the band join in our first dance song saw the dance floor filled from beginning to end. Hopefully they enjoyed the night, the brides certainly woke up having thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The process of booking, setting up and the actual event was all too easy. Thank you for your help in arranging all of our particular requests and getting us started with the spotify list, it made our job of organising this wedding that much easier."

"Toneacity entertainment are just simply incredible! Tony is the easiest guy to get on with and he knows exactly how to get everyone out of their seats and on to the dancefloor! All the band members are true professionals with unbelievable talents, but they're also a hell of a lot of fun! 1000% would recommend!"
