"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 08/04/2023 / Ceilidh for Eastercon 2023 (Sci Fi enthusiast's convention) We had a fun-filled, joyous ceilidh, thanks to the amazing, talented Black Velvet Band.The band members are great fun. Alan had us laughing so much with his warmth and humour when calling the dances. The booking process was straightforward and professional. When I talked on the phone to Mike in advance, I was assured that these guys knew their stuff. When I requested non-gendered calling, that was no problem. The band are very versatile - they added a little Star Trek and Dr Who music, seamlessly, into the ceilidh tunes, to give us an extra-special thrill! "Strutting, swaggering and seducing (his) way across the stage in spangly suits - every smirk oozing slick, amoral entitlement - Neil Balfour the beatboxing (and how!) wingman Mercurio, just kept boogying away with the whole show. Boy, it looked fun to be him – titillating, shocking and appallingly enjoyable."

"Hi John and Love for Sale , Thank.you for making our event, i envisaged a summer evening setting for a cool band, and it was perfect. You certainly brought out the crowds. "Jimmy and his band played for us at a joint 18th and 21st birthday party. From the very first contact, to the last song, we couldn't fault them. Communication was excellent, they played all our chosen songs, interacted with the guests, played some requests on the night and read the room to perfection. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a great party band. Thanks Jimmy and co!"
