"One of the hidden treasures of London is the range of talent that exists on the folk and acoustic scene that rarely get the acclaim they deserve. Three London based bands that excel at performing Eastern European/Balkan Music are Szapora, Mukka and Beskydy, each of whom are worth looking out for. Nine strong Beskydy perform songs and tunes from across Eastern Europe and beyond, in fact looking at the sources on their cd listing is almost like a tour around that part of Europe, from Macedonia to Hungary via Galicia and Bulgaria and taking a detour through Slovakia. The bands name itself comes from the range of mountains that run through the centre of former Czechoslovakia which according to the band has heavily influenced their musical choices whilst they turn their hand to music from a range of sources (excellantly). The first track is a Macedonian song, Jovano, Jovanke (click here to hear the song) and the range of Joanna Fosters vocal skills are further displayed in the three Slovakian songs that make up track 4, from the slow Janosik to the more up beat cheery Anicka Dusicka and A Ja Taka Dzivocka although Foster and the band manage to intertwine the tunes with sufficient skill so the songs merge as one. Again Track 9 is a duet with Accordian player, Peter Murphy, joining Foster on the Macedonian song Iz Dolu, along with some damned fine fiddling. The range of Beskydys musical skills are illustrated well by the instrumental tracks ranging from the delightful Slovakian Waltzes (Track 5) to the slightly more manic Tropanka from Bulgaria (track 10) and onto the ordered upbeat and furious synthesis between sax, fiddle and accordian that is Tantz, Tantz Yiddelekh (a wonderful Galician Jewish tune), yet again garunteed to result in limb movement, a delightful fusion of fiddles and saxaphone, furiously creating a wonderful atmosphere one that demands a physical response. One very minor complaint is the sleeve of the CD, it would be nice (or do I just lead a very shallow empty life) to have some information/lyrics or even translations of the songs, something about the origins of the tracks. That said its more than possible for bands with large bank accounts to produce nice extensive sleeves but not so easy for bands whose talents lie in their music rather than some slick marketing agencies. It would be impossible to identify one part of this cd that could be said to stand out more than the rest. The band have produced an album that is thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish - the question that comes to the fore when listening to this is when is the follow up going to be available?"

"I hired Simon for my 50th Birthday party last Saturday. He did a brilliant job and started the evening with some great acoustic background music and then moved more up tempo. By the end of the evening we were up dancing and even joining in at the mike! Simon handled it all in his stride - very professional, relaxed but most of all talented & tuneful able to handle classics and contemporary tracks with ease. "Stephen performed at our birthday party in Wakefield last night and what more can we say apart from you were absolutely amazing! We booked Stephen not really knowing what to expect and we couldn’t have been happier. Your play list suited all and everyone was blown away with your talent. If anyone needs a great singer/ guitarist for any occasion then book Stephen, we really can’t recommend him enough. He’s so easy to work with, in fact a truly genuine nice "

"Tamilla played at my daughter’s wedding ceremony and drink reception. She is such an amazing violinist and a very professional and nice person. When I asked her spontaneously if she could stay longer to settle us all in a wedding breakfast hall she was only too glad to accomodate. Service was perfect and the sound of her violin made the day!"

"Vicki was a pleasure to work with for our recent launch event. She took the time upfront to refine the playlist with us, understanding the tone and energy we wanted for the day, and it paid off. She arrived early, got set up seamlessly, and handled everything from the moment she walked in without needing any direction from us. Her DJ set kept the energy throughout the event, reading the room brilliantly and adapting as the day went on. The Lumière saxophone performance was a real highlight and added such a beautiful, distinctive touch that elevated the whole atmosphere, guests were genuinely blown away by it. It's the kind of detail that makes an event feel special rather than standard. From planning to execution, Vicki made the whole process effortless. We would recommend her for future events."

"We wanted to say an enormous thank you for all your music on our wedding day. The acoustic trio created the perfect atmosphere for the drinks reception and the evening band made it a legendary party! Thank you for learning and performing our first dance Concrete & Clay, it really was a dream moment. The dance floor was never quiet and your fantastic set list ensured that everyone was on their feet all night. We heard so many compliments on the day and our guests have not stopped talking about Groove Bus since. We also really appreciated your extended encore. We had the best day ever and did want it to end; but what an ending: spinning around in the middle of a huge circle of our friends and family all belting out Oasis at the top of their lungs!"

"Talisha performed at my 40th birthday party, and she was absolutely incredible! Not only was her voice absolutely fantastic, but she was so engaging with the guests, making everyone feel included. Everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along, and didn't want her to leave! I can’t recommend her enough! Thank you so much for making my milestone birthday extra special. "If I could give Rhys 11/10 I would. His singing of Songbird was on point. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I would recommend Rhys without hesitation. I put him under particular stress by asking him to be part of my speech and he was seamless. Thank so much Rhys, you made a great day perfect. "
