"Vicky and I are just back from a wonderful honeymoon in Thailand. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, Mike and all the Black Velvet Band for playing at our wedding. For some it was a new experience hearing a traditional Irish band perform. We all had a great time. Vicky and I are just back from a wonderful honeymoon in Thailand. "Just wanted to thank the Black Velvet Band for a really great evening last Saturday. They were excellent musicians and the caller was superb (very patient with the Danish contingent who took some time to get the hang of the instructions!) What I particularly appreciate is how considerate and adaptable the band was regarding my wishes. I had lovely time and have had a lot of positive comments from my guests."

"Cafe Manouche were awesome - we loved everything, from the acoustic sets, to the entrance music, to the 5-piece full set and the playlist thereafter. Natalia and Matt were also mega patient as timings inevitably slipped on the day. Our guests all agreed too - you filled the venue with the perfect atmosphere, and helped create a magical day for us! Highly, highly recommended! Thank you thank you thank you!"

"Thank you so much for playing our work Christmas party last weekend at such short notice. Your upbeat music was perfect and the Christmas songs were great! Everyone complimented the music and we will definitely think of having you play again for our next event! "

"First time I'd been to a Jazz concert. It was what I expected and more. An outside charity event at Gallery House near Marykirk in Aberdeenshire. It was a cold evening for June but the band kept us warm 🔥 Hoping this event happens every year and they come back👍👍"

"Our wedding was wonderful and your set was the perfect end to an amazing day. You created the most wonderful atmosphere and did an excellent job of entertaining the masses with your engaging medley. For us, one of the highlights of the entire day was the Russian dance! Being lifted in the air by my dearest friends to such a fabulous song was really special. We have only received positive comments about your music. Our friends and family have spoken so warmly about the reception and the music in particular. One particular guest has already recommended you to her friend for a wedding scheduled this summer. Thank you for being such fun and working so hard for us. Pass on my gratitude and best wishes to the rest of your orchestra. "

"We booked Swing Train 42 for a 70 Birthday party in Greenwich Park. Communicating and arranging things with Andrea was really easy. Andrea and co showed up on time and played their repertoire for an hour, with the sweet addition of a swingy happy birthday to start the set. Would definitely use again in the future. Iacopo"

"Cafe manouche encapsulate everything that hot jazz and manouche music stands for, sizzling vocals, rock solid rhythm, vibrant lead guitar and the sweet and tasteful accordion compliments natalia's smokey voice perfectly. These guys are just pure joy to work with and we will no doubt be booking them for the festival in the future."

"Delightful Sottish jigs and reels from Sue and Mike combined excellent calling from Henry had everyone on the dance floor, reeling into the small hours. We shall be booking the band again next year. "

"Choosing musicians for a smaller, more intimate wedding is harder than you might imagine. You want something upbeat but not excessively so, something that will add depth and eloquence without overwhelming everything else you do, and something distinctive and a little bit alternative, so that your guests will remember *this* particular wedding, rather than all the other weddings they've attended. For us, Swing Train was absolutely perfect on all these counts. After flipping through dozens of promotional videos for different bands, looking at smooth Jazz, classic Jazz, Swing and pure Acoustic and Folk, we quickly realised that very little fitted what we wanted. Brass and sax were just too pushy; the Folk was usually too melancholy, and for Jazz we just couldn't find the right balance of melodic accessibility and intimate originality. ST42 however was unique in striking the exact right balance of melody, musicianship, and the particular, very attractrive sonal quality of a bass, guitar and mandolin. So far as the booking itself goes, ST42 were a breeze to work with, accommodating and helpful with great communication. They like to do 2x or 3x 45 minute sets, but were happy to accommodate our preference for 4x 30 minute sets instead, so that we could have music to accompany all the important parts of the wedding. We also asked if they could manage several off-repetoire songs, some of which were in a similar style (Paolo Conte), but one of which was totally leftfield (Bob Marley's "Is this Love?") Needless to say, they rose to the occasion with aplomb and did a fantastic job! Andrea, Vivian and Chris are not only first class musicians; they are also really nice people, unassuming and fantastic at what they do. With ST42 you are hiring some of the best musicians in the country, at a very good price. The one thing I'd like to point out is that their online videos don't do justice to their range of ability, and they are actually even better than their videos suggest!"

"I booked them for the club's 90th birthday party and had so many great comments about the band from everyone. Our oldest member, 89 years old, even got up to dance! The balboa dancers present also loved them. They played acoustically in the enclosed yard, which was perfect as there were films playing in our little cinema. Brilliant musicians and great music, very much appreciated by the slightly older crowd. Lovely people. Highly recommended."

"WOW…. and THANK YOU for being simply fantastic. What fun we had and you guys were a big part of that. To all of you out there considering and or wanting live music for your special occasion, then I would highly recommend them. We had Cafe Manouche join us for our intimate family wedding (80 people) and everyone loved them, everyone danced and everyone had a great time, they were brilliant. We also asked them to play the music for the wedding ceremony and that too was delightful. Thank you Cafe Manouche for being part of a most magical weekend. Very very happy."
