"The Black Velvet Band provided us with a fantastic ceilidh for our wedding reception. They really got everyone up and moving, so much better than a boring DJ set. They were even accommodating to our more inebriated guests and explained the dance moves clearly. We had a wonderful time and would consider them again for future parties."

"'Cafe Manouche made a pub with a 130 people in it clap in rapture because of their incredible Sunday afternoon performance for my 40th. They made it the best party I've ever had. Huge thanks. I've booked many bands in my time as part of my job etc but can only recall one other band vaguely in their league, and that band wound up getting to the semi final of one of those dreAdful tv talent shows a month later. These guys are a wonderful slice of rare talent. Book them now before they're famous.'"

They were excellent musicians and the caller was superb (very patient with the Danish contingent who took some time to get the hang of the instructions!) "My legs are still aching because I danced so much! The band arrived on time and were very friendly and helpful and the music was delightful. It was a mixed crowd, many of whom had never met each other before but with one thing in common – they had never done ceilidh dancing before! The caller was absolutely brilliant – it didn’t matter that most people had no idea how to dance the reels! Everyone joined in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves."

"We are so grateful to Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio for making our fundraising ceilidh a great success with delightful music and dancing. The level of challenge of the dances was pitched just right to tempt our guests (who were aged from 4 to 84) to have a go – and they all came away with big smiles on their faces! Phil – the band’s friendly caller – gave just the right amount of instruction and then a quick recap before each dance and was happy to adapt dances to suit some of the children. Arrangements and payment were all handled professionally and efficiently. Thank you so much for helping us raise over £300 for our cause!"
