Review Centre: Vintage Bands

"We were looking for a band with a repertoire of jump jive and swing music for our wedding reception and found One Jump Ahead. The band did such a great job, they had such great energy, and our guests loved dancing to their music. There was good variety of songs so that our non-swing dancing guests could show of their moves too! We loved the first dance and really appreciate the band learning the song for us, we hope they will continue to play it in their future gigs. We had very good communication with Kit in the run up to the wedding and the band were able to set up by themselves which made things run smoothly for us, and were very flexible and relaxed on the night. We'll be recommending you to our family and friends for future events!"

Thanks Sherri! It was a really great reception, made all the better by the lovely sunny weather we had. It was excellent that many of your guests were swing dancers - we always like to play for them! (It's still a pleasure playing for other dancers, too, of course - or even those who prefer just to listen!) We enjoyed learning your request and will be very likely include it in our sets at future wedding receptions. "Would fully recommend Murray. Great singer and real nice guy as well. He made my wife's birthday party very special. Good interactions with the audience but not in an overbearing or embarrassing anyone way. Amazing as well that he travelled the width of the country to entertain us."

"The singing performance we had from Melody James was an out of this world personalised appearance, her singing and presence was outstanding, beautiful and professional. She lit up the room from the beginning to end and her singing created memories that we as a family will treasure forever. Her communication before the event was spot on and she made sure she knew all requirements prior to booking confirmation which meant a stress free experience. "

"Many thanks for the lovely email below - and you beat me to it as was also going to send a note thanking both you, Roger and Adam for the superb music on our wedding day. It was absolutely fantastic! Roger and his band drew some very admiring glances as we walked through the park and when we reached the courtyard of Fulham Palace, all their staff hung out of the upstairs windows looking down on us. I think some even asked for his details too??"

"I loved this act the first time I saw them at a summer event in Sandwich. Shortly after this we decided they would be the ideal act for our 50th wedding anniversary that we started to plan. They were perfect. Firstly they are excellent singers, but they are also very nice people who want to make your experience as good as it can be. My guests all commented on how good they were. If I ever needed live entertainment again, I would without doubt book The Dulcet Tones."

"This great group played for us at our Community 50/60's Dance and they soon had everyone up dancing, some even started when the group were doing their "warm up"! It was a fantastic night and we got lots of good feedback. We would certainly recommend the Backbeats and hope we can have them back again sometime in the future. "
