Review Centre: 1970s & 80s Style Bands

"We booked the band 2 years ago to play at our wedding last night(18-08-18) and from first contact to finishing their set last night everything has gone so smooth. i asked liz if the band could learn a song that is very special to me and my family which they did without hesitation and absolutley smashed it. The variety of music performed was brilliant and each and every member of the band is amazingly talented and very professional. These guys played a massive part in our big day and we cant reccomend them enough awesome people who put on an awesome show everybody has told us how good they were. A brilliant day and night was had by all and The Marvellous Motown Souls are massively to thank for that."

" Somerset Soul and Rebecca performed at our wedding in December 2021 and they were absolutely fantastic. Rebecca is a great singer and the band are superb musicians - there were great guitar solos. At the end of the evening and following the wedding, so many of our guests told us that they thought they were a great wedding band, and the dancefloor was full for the whole evening. They responded and reacted to the crowd expertly. The set list was a great selection of genres and decades, enjoyed by 3 generations. Rhona, their manager, was great to deal with before the wedding - she asked us questions, she shared an example set list, and she arranged for the first dance to be played."

"First and foremost Stargazers are fantastic musicians, the standard was absolutely amazing. Much more than just a function band. Secondly, the repertoire was perfect for a wedding, catered for young and old and got everyone up dancing (despite it being glorious weather outside). Very contemporary but doing the retro songs more than justice at the same time. Lastly, every one of them is really friendly and the whole experience of booking them, communicating before the event and spending time with them on the day was an absolute pleasure. Cannot recommend highly enough!"

"Wow! Katy and the rest of the Souls team are absolutely amazing! They played at our wedding back in April and blew the entire family away. It wasn't a massive wedding and my family are not all the type to get up and boogie, but the talent of the band had them up dancing. Katy was very helpful in the lead up and throughout the evening, I would definitely recommend them to anyone! We will be down to a gig in the future to come and have another dance with you guys. "Everybody at the our 50th celebration loved them. Most people got up to dance. The age range was from 12 to 78. Their repertoire was varied. A live band wins over a disco any day, it might cost more but it's a concert, a performance. A party at which everybody was won over to Soul music"

"The Weekend Groove played at our wedding in Cambridge and were truly excellent. They learnt our first song for us and were very flexible on our choices for the remainder of the set. This flexibility extended to the evening where we had to delay the start and they were absolutely fine with it. Once they started, everyone was jumping around on the dance floor all night and we have had many of our friends and family comment on how good the band was. I would highly recommend them."
