"Doug and Jasmine sang for my 50th birthday party. They played a great mix of music getting all ages dancing and even played most of our requests! They are such lovely people who couldn’t do enough for us and seem to enjoy the party as much as we did, which was all we wanted. Memories were made and a great evening was had by all."

"Roxi was incredible - super friendly, really flexible and totally made the party. I was indecisive around wanting a band/solo artist or DJ for my event but in the end Roxi was perfect! She's super talented, brought fantastic energy and had the whole party up dancing."

"Small Days guitarist Dave Merrick was the master of ceremonies, with vocalist Natalie Davies and sax player Brendan Whitmore joining him for the live songs. Dave unfolded the story at a well-judged pace, with records of Bessie Smith’s evocative voice even drawing applause from the attentive audience whenever they were included. The live contribution was important, too, and Natalie wisely steered away from imitating Bessie’s full-throated contralto to emphasis the singer’s lyrics with an upbeat swing on numbers like Need A Little Sugar and Send Me To The Electric Chair. Brendan Whitmore switched between soprano and tenor sax, the former particularly eloquent on Need A Little Sugar, the latter coming to the fore on T’Aint Nobody’s Business If I Do. All in all it was a satisfying journey through blues history with one of the great women who made the music what it became. "Emma was absolutely brilliant. She made our wedding afternoon, a last minute booking due to a cancellation but Emma took time and effort to ensure she was prepared and created a set list which was just perfection. She included songs which were personal to me and my family. Her voice is beautiful and she is just stunning. Thank you Emma! Need to book another party so we can have her back."

"Here is a belated thank you for your awesome performance at our wedding on the 27th of July at Orchardleigh. You really capped off a magnificent day off for us; you really had the whole room rocking from start to finish, which was just what we wanted. We had so many comments on how good you guys were on the night and have had many chats with various guests since the wedding recollecting on how excellent the band was. "If you are looking for a band to fill the dance floor, these guys are exactly what you need. I CANNOT recommend them enough. They absolutely made my husbands 50th birthday the most amazing night EVER! Not only are they great musicians but they are so friendly and go way above and beyond anything we expected. Thank you all for making the night so fantastic!!! I will definitely be booking them again. Ian you are an absolute legend from the time of booking until the day of the party nothing was ever too much trouble."

"Modern Strings were punctual , very inobstrusive , played flawlessly all the music that we had asked for . They were well dressed and professional and just perfect for our daughters wedding in Farnham Castle , I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them . "
