Review Centre: Bagpipers

"We first met Robin at a wedding open day, and quickly knew we wanted him as our wedding piper. Not only does Robin have strong piping skills, playing a mixture of traditional and fun / party tunes, his enthusiastic personality was a great addition to our day! A memorable moment was being piped in to our wedding meal to Avicii ‘Wake Me Up’ which had all of the guests in great spirits. Our guests (in particular those from overseas) enjoyed the photo opps with Robin too, which really added to the experience. Robin was professional in the run up to and on the day, and looked really smart in Black Stewart traditional dress. Thank you Robin for enhancing our Scottish wedding celebrations!"

"I am a Sergeant Major and can tell you Hector was immaculate and his uniform and turn out were immaculate! You could tell Hector is ex Scots Guards his drill and playing were worthy of Royalty! Hector is professional, dependable and an a pleasure to work with. That why we always book him."

"Well what can I say. I first heard John play for the first time at the Burns night in the Royal College of music and drama in Cardiff. I took my father a proud scotsman and this was my fathers last burns supper before his passing. My father and I enjoyed the evening so much that I asked John for his contact details as my fathers health at that point was on a downward trajectory. On his passing John agreed to play the pipes at my fathers funeral on 16th March 2020. All I can say is thank you John for giving my father the send off he wanted. I would wholeheartedly recommend John after all the Royal college Music and Drama uphold the highest standards and the burns evening was no exception from the recital of Robbie Burns to the singing which was sublime to the pipes which gave a magical feel to the evening. What a talent and genuine person who plays for the love of music and the joy it gives to others?? Oh and thanks for the happy birthday pipes on BBC 13th April. Highly recommend"

"We cannot believe that 2 months have gone by already since our wedding. Arriving at the church to see a piper in full regalia really made us realise. "This is it" Our wedding is here! You set the tone for our traditional Highland affair really well. We got quite used to being piped into each room by the end of the day. we were just saying it would be great to have you around all the time to announce the "bride and groom's entrance" In all seriousness, you did a perfect job on the day and our guests loved you, we really couldn't have had the wedding we wanted without you. "I booked a piper for a last minute Surprise wedding and was over the moon at the quick response. Gordon the piper was amazing and made the day extra special. Even passers by on the street stopped to listen to his wonderful piping and he was very accommodating for pictures and videos which have now gone round the world to family and friends. I must commend George on his response time as he immediately got back to my request and had arrangements in place within a day. I would heartily recommend Arkleston Pipers for their excellent service. You will not be disappointed!!! Absolutely First Class."

"Myself and all of my family have so much appreciation and gratitude and cannot thank Billy enough for playing the Bagpipes at my Dad's funeral on June 4th 2024, he played the flower of Scotland and Amazing grace, two of my Dad's favourite tunes and it was absolutely perfect, Billy made the day extra special and he did my Dad proud. "I would highly recommend Rich Gordon if you are looking for a Piper. He was very friendly and extremely communicative in the run-up to my daughter's wedding. He was extremely punctual on the actual day and played beautifully throughout, right up to the fantastic Gaelic toast he made to the Happy Couple at the top table. He added something very special to my daughter's big day and I would definitely love to book him again in the future"
